Considering Burke gave a no comment, i tend to agree with you. If they are still trying to iron out the details, i doubt its about money, but more about how much power Burke would have. Edwards do yourself and the flames a favour and give him what he wants. I would be pissed if Burke signing falls through because they didn't want him to have to much power. If he wants to be GM also, give it to him. If he wants final say, give it to him.
"I'm not going to talk about it tonight," said Burke to reporters. "Sorry you had to camp out here."
Upon being pressed on whether or not there was interest on his part in a role with the Flames, Burke reiterated his position of silence.
"I'm not going to talk about it tonight," said the 58-year-old native of Providence, RI. "I appreciate you have to ask and I think you should appreciate I don't have much to say tonight."
Interesting that he didn't just brush it off as visiting his daughter on his way to Lloydminster tomorrow. Looks like there might be some smoke here.

If both Burke and feaster are with the flames, the media will love Calgary. I'm struggling to see a role in Calgary for Burke that he would be happy with though. Perhaps his public persona isn't the same as who he is away from the media.
Burke was a great hockey mind, was this and that. After thinking about it, we really need solid delivery from someone a little younger, on the move. Also, can we remember, and it's already been said this the guy that made Dion Phaneuf captain?
I think it will work for Ken King to step aside to handle the business side of the Flames and Stamps- whatever they will name that title. Feaster stepping up into the more executive role as president and CEO, and Burke running VP of hockey operations and GM. I'm sure Feaster will be pleased to give the reins to a well respected hockey man like Burke and let him run with it.
If this goes down, it will be interesting to see the domino effect as it pertains Feaster brought in guys like Weisbrod, Hartley, Conroy and Cloutier as Burke tends to like familiar faces around him eventually.
Regardless, I hope Burke is brought into the fold in a major capacity and bring with him some instant respectibility and hockey smarts. This would be a great move for Calgary and after Hartley gets the axe, Darryl will be back behind the bench for us to get the Cup he missed out on in 04- lol kidding
As long as Weibrod stays within his curent position i like it.
Agreed, Weisbrod seems like the one guy who is not out of place at all and has brought a lot of positives and a different perspective as it pertains to drafting philosophy etc.
