I'm pretty sure one of Burke's daughters goes to school in Calgary. Not saying it isn't him.

I'm pretty sure I want Burke to be the Flames GM, even if he has to do it by proxy like Kevin Lowe up in Edmonton.
Also, here's hoping we see a Lowe vs Burke dust-up in the Sutter barn.

@reporterchris: There seems to be more than a little fire with the smoke of the Brian Burke to Calgary rumours. Standby.

Not to add any fuel to the fire but Burke will be in Alberta tomorrow.
(though for the evening of champions dinner in Lloyd).

I would welcome it but I would also be a little surprised as Burke casts a big shadow and everyone in the hockey operations would be on notice. Would be a bold move for the organization.

I will be very surprised if its Brian Burke. I saw him in an interview a month ago and he said that he wants a GM job and nothing else. He said he had no problem waiting and that for this up-coming year that he did not think there would be openings. Sounded like he was pretty confident that he would have a couple of chances next year once a couple of axes were swung.

Burke is a dink but he builds good teams. I'd love for him to come to the Flames.

I don't think you're being very intellectually honest with that statement.
I'll take KK any day over Feaster, for President.

I imagine Calgary was one of those organizations that may be swinging the axe so get a head start and let him oversee the organization atop for a season. Feaster and Hartley to me look like they could be easily sacrificed after what is going to be a pretty dismal season for the organization.

Kind of makes sense that he'd fly into Calgary today to see his daughter then either fly or drive up to Lloyd tomorrow.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Last time Brian Burke to CGY rumors surfaced in June, Burke shot them down quickly. He was there to see his daughter, who lives there now.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
This time, though, there's been no denial (to this point) and some people who would know if it's legit have clammed right up. Interesting

I would love to see Burke in Flames management, but i agree with your "casts a big shadow". No matter what his title would be, it would become Burkes team. Hell they could make him head supervisor on "pocket dogs" and it would still become Burkes team. It just does not sound like something the flames would do.
I'll laugh when they announce Nieuwendyk as the new management team member. Now that sounds more like the flames.
