LoL no doubt, Iginla looked more dangerous in that game than the past 4 Flames playoff appearances.

He really is looking rejuvenated in Pitts, good for him.

I'd still like to see Iginla skate a little harder. It seemed like he wasn't bearing down like he really could.

That being said he is being utilized to his strengths. He is releasing that bomb on the PP and his puck instincts are still top notch.

I really think before the playoffs are over Iginla will be one of the more key players for the Pens. Not just another forward who contributes.

I heard Iggy was a star tonight, which means he hates Calgary.

Anyway on topic...

Is this some kind of joke?

The discussion about Iggy was when he set up the first goal.

That couldn't have been more on topic. Even pointless well wishing (which I didn't see particularly any of) would be on topic on this thread and on this forum.

Didn't say it wasn't. I said...

As in direct response to this post...

I hate that word to begin with. Spamming it on this topic is getting old quick.

If you don't care, don't post. Posting to tell us you don't care = caring FYI.
In which you did nothing to add to the discussion of the topic of the thread but instead decided to begin the off topic derailment by whining that anyone that doesn't want to post about how happy they are for Iginla in the "Pens vs Isles" thread. See the bolded part.

Take note of what Kootney told you in another thread recently and if you have a problem with what people are posting, put them on ignore. Derailing the thread (yes you were the first to do it here) when all of the discussion had previously been related to the topic because you don't like what is said then demanding people should be "kicked in the junk"...

So no, not joking. Won't be further responding to this nonsense since this has gone needlessly way off topic. Sorry mods

So by that logic, you're whining about what you perceive as whining?

Wow, ironic and funny. Nice.

The difference is, in a thread about Iginla or the Pens, wishing him well or talking directly about his play absolutely relevant. How is it not?

Good to see Iggy have a cohesive team, and able to count on others to do their jobs while doing his. So many of the past few years he has won board battles to see the play flubbed and also had some really good backchecking at times, when everyone knows that the role of the center is a lot more critical to defending than the wings. Nice to see him playing with a team that has their stuff together, so he can just play.

Nice luxury for Bylsma. Iggy was far and away the best player on the Flames for years and years. Pitt has the luxury of its top 1 or 2 players out, both Crosby and Malkin, towards the end of the season, and has to fall back on a group effort rallying the remaining troops including Iggy and Morrow. Nice problem to have.

Ya it really is incredible the depth that team has. While I don't think they are the best team ever assembled by a long shot, I really can't think of any others that have had players like Iggy, Neal and Morrow as "depth" players for when your best player(s) in the world aren't around.

If only we could be a struggling American team and get a rigged draft lottery, that could be us in a few years.

Completely dominated without Crosby. I wonder if there is any team that can stop Pittsburg in the east. Boston?

Something tells me this isn't going to turn into a miracle for the Islanders. That was a convincing win for the Penguins in the 5-0 win as Fleury stopped all 26 shots for the SHUTOUT. Good on Poulin taking over from Nabokov and playing well.

I'd say Rangers has the best shot at stopping them. Can't see Boston doing it, somehow.

Rigged?

Wasn't Pittsburgh one of 5 teams that had the highest chance to win the lottery. Seems pretty reasonable that they would win with the highest chance to do so.

They were but their overall chance of winning was still pretty low - less than 20%.

It just seemed to be very convenient because at the time the franchise was in serious trouble and Bettman was doing everything he could to save it - then they just happen to get the next great generational player.

I don't think it was rigged, but I wouldn't be all that shocked if it turned out it was. Crosby to the Pens worked out very well for the league.

Looks like Sid will be back, but Neal might be out for awhile (since they redid lineup rather than just have Bennet fill in for Neal)

Lines this morning (Sid has been on 5th line every practice until now)

Kunitz - Sid - Dupuis
Bennett - Geno - Iggy
Morrow - Sutter - Cooke
Glass - Jokinen - Adams

God damnit. How long am I going to have to wait to see Crosby and Iginla play together. It seems like that was the plan until Neal got hurt.
