GoT is excellent and X-Files sucks. Because I say so.
Enjoy the polls and get the stick out of your ass. You basically decided to try and #### this up and take it way too seriously with the very first reply in the thread. Sigh.
Yeah you know, because having a discussion of proclaiming something the greatest ever after two seasons is way out of line. Not taking this serious at all, just trying to have people think about placing votes before they make them. Because it's going to be a lot easier for current popular shows to get votes, then it is for shows that have ended, or seen better days.
You should probably take the stick out of your ass bud, I have never said a negative thing about Game of Thrones.

I know I've been spoiled by modern day productions, but X-Files seemed pretty mediocre at best.
The first season was pretty average since it hardly had any budget at the time. It really didn't start hitting its stride until the 3rd or 4th seasons when Fox increased its production budget. And like MMF said it did have a number of filler episodes, so you have to search out the better ones. It was given Emmy nominations for seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5; so that should give you an idea of when to find the better episodes. Check out episodes like Home, Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man, Paper Hearts, Triangle, and Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space if you want a good variety of the better episodes.

I'll probably go back and finish them out, so it's good to know that the third season is where it picks up.

This is a favourite shows vote, not the best shows. If it were best the list would be 8 and thats about it. But yeah season two of the Wire features this scene, better than any scene in the history of the Fresh Prince (a show I like too).

I can't believe The Wire only beat Fresh Prince by 4 votes, that's disturbing.
I am guessing that people who have only watched one of the shows in the matchup will choose that show. Definitely skews results for a show like The Wire which has a lower viewership than most.
The Wire is my personal pick as to what should win the whole thing, but of all the shows that I thought might take it down, or come close to it, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was definitely not among them.
I think it'll either be Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad that does take it down eventually, and I expect one of those to go on to be the overall winner.
