Thankfully next year, if brought back, Cervenka's cap hit will drop by about 3 million.
I mean Cervenka's cap hit is 3.775 million. He will end up earning way less than that (or the equivalent to that in the shortened season). I was asking if that savings carries forward to next year since obviously his cap hit is his cap hit for this year.

But given your answer I see the answer is no.

Did Feaster actually make this comment or is this media/fan generated?
If Feaster did say this he would have been better advised to keep his mouth quiet on this one. It rings we really don't have a solid plan beyond drafting.

Personally Feaster should just address that with...GM's will be managing their team cap space according in this upcoming of season If a rare opportunity came up that made sense to the Calgary Flames we would listen.
Feaster said something along the lines of. We have been reveiwing the rosters of all the teams that have RFA due for a big increase, example going from $1M up to $3M.

He did not say, we plan, offer sheeting guys, trading for RFAs, taking bad money from teams so they can afford their RFA's..... That is all speculation.

Heatley and Tanguay both seem to have the don't care attitude so they might be a perfect fit for each other.
