Drouin is a fantastic hockey player. But MacKinnon is made for the NHL. He is as close to a certain franchise C as you're going to get (exxluding generational talents like Crosby)

I love this. We will likely get a franchise centre, at the expense of losing Iginla.
Then we will hunt for 17 more years for that elusive scoring right winger.

And then there is Valeri Nichushkin. Great size, speed and skill. If he wasn't Russian he'd be top three as well. Maybe if the Flames can grab another first in the 16-20 range he could be available as well.

Don't forget the draft lottery is weighted way differently this year. Anyone in the bottom five has a very reasonable shot a picking # 1.

This is what I am hoping as well. I wouldn't risk my first round (top 10) pick on him, but if you had two first round picks and could get him with the second one, that would be sweet.

I just see this as an increased likelihood of getting bumped from something like 4th to 5th.

Noticed Hartley changed up his lines for the 3rd.
Put Backs with the big boys. Jackman with Stajan & Stempniak, and put Comeau on the line with Cammy & Hudler in place of Cervenka.
Also formed a rather interesting PP line of Backlund, Stajan & Stempniak, which proved to be really effective.
A shame Cervenka got benched, but can't say I disagreed with it because he was a legit liability out there and thought he was our worst player by miles tonight.

I REALLY hope that caller talking about the players getting in at 6am and going golfing, wasn't for real. Otherwise, there are bigger problems than we all think.

Feaster built the softest team in the NHL.
And when he tries to add toughness be adds useless plugs like Begin and Mcgrattan. I want a management sweep from top to bottom, including scouts. Clean the cancer in this organization. Pathetic group.

No kidding. I have a hard time believing that. Maybe the teams realizes how bad we need a centre and are just trying to help the draft stock.
