Weisbrod has to be working for the Bruins still, or Feaster is going to pull a WWE-style heel turn at this presser. How else would such a bad trade go down???

so i think we can make it official, the silver lining of "hockey men" surrouding not-a-hockey-guy Feaster is now gone.

the thread title needs to be amended, the whole management team needs to be fired. Ken King, Feaster, Weisbrod, everyone. this franchise will be stuck spinning it's wheels until competent hockey management can be brought in

The only thing I thought was unreasonable about the "first" trade was that the pick was conditional. But now.. seriously F### Feaster. F### King. F### Edwards. F### anyone who had anything to do with this. Absolute Robbery by Pittsburgh. I hope the Flames don't make any more moves just so the organization doesn't get even more messed up than it already seems to be.

Thanks for the entertainment fellas!
Your collective overreaction to what proved to be nothing more than a false report was hilarious.
I can't wait for your reactions to the Pittsburgh deal. I have a feeling the pitchforks won't be going back in the cupboard.

It's still a #### deal.
Calgary should have demanded Bennett / Despres / Pouliot instead of two average prospects.
Feaster does not win brownie points, and the overreaction is justified given that we essentially let Jarome decide the fate of the Calgary Flames.

Letting a player decide is absolute bush league, as GM it's your responsibility to negotiate and take the best deal... unless there was some underhanded agreement that he re-signs in Calgary, this makes no sense.

Iggy has a NTC, they have no choice but to let him decide.

Don't even try to twist that... laughable. It was clear Iggy already offered a list of 4 teams... nothing there says you have to show him 3 deals and let him choose the best. Come on now.

I cant believe ownership has allowed Calgary to become this cluster (#&$ road show. WTH with all the NCAA players, Feaster go back to being a lawyer and bring in someone with hockey sense. we are off the tracks and dont see it getting better any time soon. Intellectual honesty my arse!!!! RoR trade and now this
flames were Flames were jail tooled in this trade!
Iggy, win the cup, were all cheering for you!!!!!!!

Signed.
Bring in Burke, though he can get robbed (Kessel trade, though at least he got Kessel back who is near a PPG player), he can also rob people right back, Kaberle, etc.

Nothing there says they didn't have have to either. Were you in the meeting between Iggy and management? Ultimately, Iginla had all the deciding power, not Feaster. Not sure how that's hard to understand.

Look at what Hossa got. Angelo Esposito and a 1st (armstrong and dupuis were traded as well, but they are equivalent players)
Esposito was a declining prospect and the first will be in the same range give or take. Hanowski and Agostino are slightly worse than Esposito in terms of at the time potential, but the two trades are fairly similar.

While this may have gotten the elephant out of the room, Feaster now has a few more trades to craft, where the pressure is more to get a return that has to be something that can help the team in the next two years, not 3 or 4 years down the road when you hope some of these college kids may or may not be ready.
Assuming he is anything more right now then the phone answerer for King and the owners.
As I said somewhere else....him talking about "not wanting to do club business through the media" was pretty telling, as it was a radical departure from his normal operations, and IMO, a direct relation to the dressing down he got after the ROR thing a month ago.
