Depends on your needs. I get way better streaming with the apple TV then the xbox. Not sure if its because the gaming system is by now older technology or that Xbox live is a bottleneck.

Is Bell offering a code for current Center Ice subscribers to get Gamecenter again this season? I tried the Bell link from last year with no luck, just subsciption info.

Just spoke to Bell on the phone. Reps have no knowledge of this happening. Sounds like no decision has been made - yet.

Mainly would be ease of already having it set up since some people use these devices for home media compared to the(minor) hassle of plugging in the laptop.

I currently dont have TV because im originally from BC and im transferring back there for work in the next month so did not want to bother with it, although im wondering if I was to get gamecenter live would I be able to watch flames games on my ipad or would they be blacked out? My billing address is still in BC

I'm pretty sure that it'll be blacked out if you're watching a Flames game in Alberta but would be available if you're watching outside Alberta. So when you move back to B.C, you'll be good to watch the Flames game but I'd assume all Canuck games would be blacked out.

Unfortunately, if your internet connection is in the Flames region (which I believe is AB and SK), then it will be blacked out. Billing address doesn't matter.

You'll be able to get the CBC games for free on their web site, however, but that's obviously only a handful of games.

FYI, you're screwed if you live in Canada, not only Calgary. If the game is streamed on CBC you cannot view it on Gamecenter. Not sure where you're from though...

if it's on cbc, you can live stream. it's tsn and sporstnet that ruin it for us tv/cableless folk.

I realize not everyone has access to a VPN, but if you do you can bypass any blackout restrictions. One neat thing is if you connect through the VPN, then disconnect it and go back to your default connnection, the stream will keep working anyway. They only check your region on the initial connect, after that it doesn't matter. Nice because sometimes a VPN can be slow.

The above trick may also work with other proxy like connections but I have not tried it.

The game tonight is coming in much clearer than in the previous 3. Haven't had a hiccup or downgrade in quality yet today.

Nope, not tonight, the previous 3 days I did. All of them have been viewed with a Roku box. My internet connection is Frontier FIOS (dedicated fiber line to my house, switched over from comcast last week).
