Good to hear they went back on it. What a stupid suspension.

It's a stupid suspension, and I too am glad that it was repealed.

... However, I expect that not a PEEP will be heard if a student shows up with a shirt saying anything to the contrary. And if there is, then we're going to have problems.

That's what I was thinking. I want to show up on the sidewalk outside that school selling this T-shirt:

So you're a fan of murdering innocent people because of their religious beliefs?

Thats a way different message then the original T-Shirt, just to play a devils advocate to a devils advocate.

My shirt would say "Life is wasted... with religion".

I'm pushing the envelope - how far do the "freedom of expression" people go? Similar to my previous post. The school has said that this T-shirt doesn't cross the line. I'm wondering where the line actually is anymore. Maybe there isn't a line and either T-shirts I proposed are perfectly fine.

Except that it could be argued that your shirt advocates violence against or the murder of a group of people. your shirt goes beyond the evvelope.

If the school wants to suspend someone for this, they may as well go all the way and have school uniforms.

I don't know why anyone would support a week-long suspension over a t-shirt slogan.

I couldn't care less about what someone's t-shirt says. It could say "I hate rednecks" and I wouldn't bat an eyelash....cuz I'm all grown up now.
Can you imagine mikey defending the poor Muslim kid who gets suspended for wearing an "Allahu Akbar" t-shirt for 2 weeks?

What does "Allahu Akbar" mean? If it isn't a call to holy war I'd support a kid's right to wear it.

A call to holy war? That's your first guess?

Isn't it "God is Great"? Sounds like a call to holy war if *I've* ever heard one.

Googling the phrase returns this as the third result.

I'm not an Islamic scholar by any means... but ... seriously?
