Yeah the colts definitely been successful, pretty much winning most of the division titles over all those years. That's why, as a Jaguars fan, I can't say I am happy about them landing Luck now.

Initially I was disappointed the Bucs didn't get Claiborne, and even more disappointed it was the Girls coming up to get him. Mostly I was disappointed in the return for trading back, considering what the Vikings got. And then I thought about it some more: The Bucs DBs coach was Claiborne's DB coach at LSU, so if he thought Claiborne was great, he'd be a Buc. But instead he obviously liked Barron, a guy he saw many times, even more.
Then I went back and watched some highlights of the two and thats when I knew why the Bucs took and probably wanted Barron more: He's a ferocious hitter, and Claiborne doesn't look like a very good tackler. The one thing Tampa needs is hitting and tackling, which was atrocious last year.
Then the really cherry was that without the 4th rounder they acquired by trading back, they can't jump the Giants to get Doug Martin at the end of the first, and I love the Martin pickup. So overall great first round for the Bucs.
And this doesn't help for Claiborne: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...lic-questions/

Another failed draft for Cleveland, how do you take Weeden @ #22 over DeCastro or Reiff?

I might be in the minority, but I actually quite liked the Weeden pick. Richardson takes some of the pressure off him, and his arm is really solid. Only question is whether he can transition from the spread, but thats the same for Tannehill and Griffin III. I think he'll be better than Tannehill for sure and he's definetely got a stronger arm than Colt McCoy.

Can't believe how fortunate the Eagles were to get Cox at 12. Talk was they were targeting a trade into the top 7 because that's where he was projected to go.
They get the best DT in the draft and only have to give up a 4th and a 6th, no complaints from me.

A little bit more reading, and it looks like McClellan was a favorite among Patriot and Packer scouts, which makes me feel much better about him. Quite the riser though, from the 3rd round to the first in the span of about a month.

Well BB finally moved up in the draft...TWICE...and really nailed it!
The Patriots traded their No. 27 pick and third-rounder for the Bengals' No. 21 spot and took Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones.
They then dealt the No. 31 choice and a fourth-rounder to Denver and went for Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower.
Both Jones and Hightower will make the Pats D MUCH better! I never thought they would be available and credit to Bill for making the moves when he did to get them. High chance both players could be All-Pro.
2 Picks in the 2nd round is all thats left but enough to fill the need in the secondary? Perhaps Boykin, or Jenkins? Both?

Cleveland Browns jump start offense with drafting of Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden
General Manager Tom Heckert acknowledged that Weeden was drafted to be the starting quarterback. He said the team would discuss whether or not to trade Colt McCoy Thursday night and Friday.
Heckert said his friend Rick Spielman, the Vikings GM, told him the competing offer he had for Richardson "and I beat it. We were pretty fired up. Trent was the guy we really wanted and I'm glad it worked out.
Report: Browns wanted Wright over Weeden, told McCoy no first-round QB
SECOND-ROUND OPTIONS: Still available to the Browns heading into the second round of the draft include offensive tackles Cordy Glenn of Georgia, Jonathan Martin of Stanford, Mike Adams of Ohio State and Mississippi State's Bob Massie; and receivers Stephen Hill of Georgia Tech and Rueben Randle of LSU.
Cleveland Browns: Colt McCoy trade would be more evidence of a well-considered plan -- Bud Shaw NFL Draft 2012 blog
They can recoup one of the draft choices they gave up to move to No. 3 for the Trent Richardson pick and lend more credence to their claim that they really do have a plan in Berea.
The have remedied the two most glaring voids of the offseason: the failure to land the Rams' No. 2 pick (Robert Griffin III); and letting their starting running back, Peyton Hillis, leave in free agency for a relatively modest salary.

McCoy is never going to be a star. I have no problem with picking QBs until they hit the jackpot.
Weeden shows potential.

The Browns can spin it anyway they want, but that Weeden pick was awful. Brady Quinn 2.0.

I don't know, let's compare:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brady_Quinn
Quinn posted rather impressive numbers, finishing the season with 3,426 yards on 289 completions out of 467 attempts for a completion percentage of 61.9% and 7.34 yards-per-attempt. He threw 37 touchdowns to only 7 interceptions, and was sacked 31 times. Quinn finished the regular season with a passing efficiency rating of 146.65,[16] which ranked him 18th in the country.[17]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Weeden
He also broke school records in total attempts, completions, yardage, and touchdowns (all which were previously held by incumbent Coach Mike Gundy). Mike Gundy is actually third in completions and total yards, behind Weeden in 2010, and Zac Robinson in 2009, both quarterbacks under his tenure at Oklahoma State. In 12 games, Weeden completed 379 of 522 passes for 4,328 yards. In the 2012 Fiesta Bowl, the last game of his college football career, Brandon Weeden threw for 399 yards, completed 29 of 42 passes, and had 4 touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing) along with one interception in a 41-38 win against the Stanford Cardinal in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/...brandon-weeden
72.3%, 37 TD, 13 INT, RAT 159.8
His ginger hair matches the Browns helmet!
