What I'm curious about is if the Labatte signing was deemed priority over Fantuz and/or if the Labatte signing means there is no more money left to even make a competitive offer to Fantuz. This would all be in Drake's opinion or based on news he's got that I haven't seen yet.

As a Rider fan I would be ok with that. I think serious OL help will do more to win games than Fantuz next year. However 200K a year is way too much for a lineman.

According to DD's Facebook page Picard is a Rider. There is probably a better source out there
Riders sign Labatte and Picard according to Dave Naylor. Huge boost to the OL! They probably over paid them though

at 200k a year or anything near or above it, that's an insane overpayment for an OL. Every team in the CFL would love to have Labatte but get real.

Riderfans.com is reporting (take with grain of salt) that they're paying Labatte 205k a year.
Wtf? Is he going to be allowed to use a gun to block people?

Did Eric Tillspin do what he does best and spew some #### out his ass that was wrong?

"No, I didn't pay Brendon LaBatte that money,'' Taman said. "We matched Winnipeg's offer and we ended up getting him because he wanted to play at home.
"The $200,000 figure is ludicrous.''

This is going to take some getting used to

Fantuz to Hamilton is just about the least surprising news I've heard all year.
