I drove up to Revelstoke today. I left around 630 made it at about 1130. Apparently there was a fatality near golden earlier today and then tonight there was a semi jackknifed just east of Golden (a bunch of canned goods covered the side of the highway). Currently it is puking really hard. Probably going to get 10-15 tonight/tomorrow morning. The flakes are really big, can't wait for 830 to come.

Wow! 25cm of new snow over night and their powder gnome is buried.

Dare I ask how it is/was today?

I have a Louise card and I began to activate it online, even tho I already did(but forgot). They require you to fill out your personal info as well as enter the alpha-numeric number on the back of that card. So when I tried the 2nd time the website told me right away that the card had already been activated. Maybe you can (try to) activate it at point of sale with the kijiji seller?

Got to go CAT skiing in Fernie over the break and thought I would share 2 pictures of it. We were only the second group they took up all year, so we had first tracks for the year on every run, was some amazing powder.

Just about to hop in the dirty hot tub at the lodge. It was amazing today and it hasn't stopped snowing. Sub Peak hike was closed, but it didn't matter. So much snow everywhere. Best day of the year, and maybe my best day ever at Revelstoke. We skiied a lot of North Bowl, a few runs in the back 40 off ripper and one monster south bowl run. The only problem was the cat tracks were so sticky because they haven't been groomed. First World Skiing problem i know.

Just booked a sick chalet for a group of 9 ski buddies at Golden. The trip is in a couple of weeks. I've never been to K-Ho, any recommendations for good spots to hit on the hill? How about in the town? Good pub or Pizza place or anything? is there even night life out there?

I received some ski boots for Christmas, in the box the boot indicates it has a "heat ready Nordica PFP Performance Fit Liner"

From what I can tell the liner is heated and then moulds to your foot. They bought these boots from a store in the US on their last vacation, is there any shop in Calgary that I could pay to have these boots heated and fitted? Thanks

Any ski shop in the city should have heaters to do it. I would call them and ask if they do it though, they might only mold liners that were bought in store.

Just pop the liners in the oven on low for ten minutes then wear them in the boots comfortably done up tight for a half hour. Here's a link on it.

I would assume any ski shop in the city. Ski Cellar, Fresh, Abominable, Ski West. Even Sportmart/Sportcheck should be able to. At least they used to.

Well, Fernie has had over 1.5m of snow this week. I'm checking out of the office now to hit the road there. I'll update you on Monday and let everyone know how much fun I had. I might actually bring out the gopro to get some footage of the snow. If i shoot anything worth posting, you'll be sure to find it here.

Well, I'm pretty sure my powder chasing is finished for the year. I was one of the first people into curry bowl yesterday when they opened it in the afternoon. Broke my ankle about 15 turns in. Took me about 45 minutes to one foot ski down through all that snow.

So I broke my adaptive skiing cherry last week. It is very tough, well tougher then I thought it was going to be. First time skiing in 12 years!

I have to get the hang of this thing, I have a "boys skiing trip" planned in 2 weeks.

I think I am going to go to Sunshine for some lessons next week.

GWE, Is sunshine the place to go for adaptive skiing? I was at Nakiska Last Year with a few guys going off in the adaptive ski?

AFAIK the national team trains at Nakiska, they weren't there last week, that's where myself and couple others went. Must have been too cold, pussies...;o)

I am going to go through Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sports Centre and they have a program at Sunshine. I hope my next experience is better. I have trained at a higher level for sledge hockey and adaptive skiing is far tougher then I expected. It may be a matter of getting my equipment prepped better before I decide to try going down a hill.

Sorry to hear that man...that does suck.

If anyone was wondering Revelstoke was pretty amazing on Saturday however it was easily the busiest I've ever seen it. The line up at the gondola to get up was 45 minutes long - I couldn't believe it.

Went rippin behind Fernie on sled. While everyone else fought each other for lines at the hill, we took our time and trashed a ridge all day with no one around us.

I heard the line to get into the Fernie parking lot backed up the highway. Unreal.

I'm heading up to Marmot Basin this weekend. From looking at their trail map, Eagle East looks like the best/hardest terrain. Does anybody have any secret stashes, or favourite areas?
