Makes sense.

During the time of darkness of about 7pm - 6am (at this time of year), I'm going to guess most people are sleeping for most of this time. During events, a lot of the people that think it looks good are inside the stadium. Those who think it still looks ugly are the ones looking at it from the outside.
It's still ugly during the day when the vast majority of people go by and/or near the stadium.

You do realize that not everyone thinks it looks ugly during the day. It's a matter of taste. It's not my favorite looking stadium, but I don't look at it and think to myself. "Wow, that's gross, I'm never going there." You tnink it looks ugly, that's your opinion and it's a fair one. It's definitely a different looking kind of facility.
At the end of the day, the reviews from inside the stadium have all been top notch, outside of the concession issue which Dennis Skulsky(Lions Pres) has promised will be fixed by next Friday's game. I can't imagine people who are having a hell of a time inside the stadium are thinking they won't come back because the outside looks ugly during the day.

By all accounts, BC Place was a beautiful and gracious host today.
A few complaints about the $11 beers from the Timbers fans, but that was offset by Caps fans being polite enough to not interrupt the Timbers Army.

$11?? Are you joking, because that's insane, I thought the $8.50 was bad in Seattle.
Your not kidding, this link agrees!

This is the view my girlfriend had of the game today, said the atmosphere was awesome, only problem was the seats she bought were basically right next to the drummers, which got annoying as the game went on.
From the pic I really like the way they cover up the upper bowl, it does give a really intimate atmosphere. Good job getting the sell-out of 21,000, though I thought I saw some empty seats when I watched a bit of the game on TV.

That would be nice, but they certainly don't need a new stadium.

I can't wait to attend another Whitecaps game, and now in BC Place! I've been to two already this season and I'm a huge fan. MLS is growing in popularity, and the games are infinitely more fun when it's Seattle / Portland / Los Angeles coming to play.

I attended the Whitecaps game yesterday and I'm torn.
The building itself was fantastic. Very impressed with all the work they have done.
I'm not sure if it works for MLS though. They had the right idea with covering the upper decks to create a more intimate atmosphere, it just didn't work, IMO. The place still seemed massive. I was at the opposite end of the Southsiders and I could barely hear them all game. Also, the bowl has such a gradual slope, it felt like I was veerrrry far away from the field
I dunno. I'll be back again for the Thursday night game and I'll see if I get a different feeling.

Did I hear correctly that 150 concession workers quit on their first shift on Friday night?
It was crazy there, but wow.
