Pretty sure that's a standard thing in all game modes, at least that I've noticed. For some reason changing your forwards results in your defence changing too..

I wound up with Brassard on my team via a trade offer from CBJ in NHL10... he went on to win the scoring race.

I've thrown Ivanans & my 2012 & 2013 1st round picks on the trading block... no offers yet. Haven't bothered trying to make any trades yet (20 games in), but I'm starting to feel necessity due to injuries.

Ever cpu trade offer that I receive is asking for j-bo probably had about 20 so far and im only a couple games into the season.

Heck for that you might even be able to get Malkin. I got Malkin for something like that but I was the Kings. Kings have a ridiculously awesome team. Somehow made some trades got this...
Stamkos - Malkin - Brown
Gagne - Richards - Kane
Boedeker - Savard - Shroeder
Can't remember the rest. But Savard was put on waivers so that was a no brainer. I want to give my younger guys more playing time but with a line up like that... how do you. And I still got cap space.

Looks like I'm stuck on my Be a Pro season. I can't get past my next game against Red Deer without the game freezing during the game. And there's been a few times where I've had multiple points. Ugh.

season mode freezing issues workaround is that when starting a new season, put the roster control setting to "standard" not "full".
I had severe freezing issues, but the above was posted on the EA board by the mods, and since then i'm enjoying the season mode with no more freezing.

OK - after a full week, I have a couple of gripes with this game.
1. While playing Be A Pro, my team goes to overtime. At this point my "Team Play" score is an A-. Even though I'm the second line centerman, I get ZERO ice time in OT, the team loses, and my Team Play rating goes to F. WTF???
2. The Settings are screwy. I have the music turned all the way down, but every once and a while they sound settings reset and I get to enjoy blaring/jarring and otherwise crap music.

I haven't gone out and got NHL12 yet, but I have a question for you guys that did. In the HUT mode this year, do players still have limited career lengths like in NHL11?
The HUT on FIFA doesn't have career lengths limited, and I found that it made the mode so much more enjoyable. It's a lot more fun to build a team when you know the players can be used as long as you want.
