I hope to see Reynolds run with a chip on his shoulder Friday and Frank holding a clip board.

I hope Dickenson will actually involve Reynolds in the game plan for once this season.

Great news. The Burris era is hopefully over. Tate can probably execute Dave dickensons offense much better.
Burris has already cost is enough this year. On top of that we can see Tate in the playoffs and not Henry turning it over play after play. Other then 2008, Burris has been horrid for us in playoffs.

This needed to happen. Burris lost the fans an it appears as though he lost the confidence of the players in the room.

AllenCameronCH Burris has some issues with his first action as backup QB. Fumbled the clip board twice and tossed the Gatorade bottle to the defense. #calstampeders#CFL

Looks like things aren't going well for Henry.

Stamps OC Dickenson makes it clear. If Tate plays well, he stays at QB. "We don't want a revolving door at QB." #cfl

Glad to hear they're going to give Tate a good shot at this.

Typical Burris a big baby. It's probably best to just get rid of him, but we need a backup qb if Tate gets hurt.
Just confirms that Burris is a terrible leader, and guys rather play for Tate.

How is he being a "baby"? he is a competitor and just lost his job...what else is he supposed to be feeling?
And no...getting rid of him right now would be idiotic snice there is no way to know how tate will perform as a starter. Its awfully nice to have last years MOP sitting there if needed.

Great decision by the coaching staff. At this point, anything other than 3rd place seems unlikely, so getting the team focused and healthy for the playoffs should be the priority. I think people need to be careful not to put too many expectations on Tate; he'll be making his first CFL start, and probably facing a defense that has actually prepared for him for the first time. Hopefully the team rallies around him and makes some big plays.
Handling Burris is going to be tough for the coaches; I'd give Burris a break for today - he's got a lot of pride and I can imagine this is a really rough day for him. Let's see how he is by gameday: is he sulking on the sidelines, or is he embracing his role as a backup and mentor to Tate? His attitude will determine a lot more than just his future with the Stamps - there are teams in the CFL that will take a shot at him if he's going to be an effective backup, but if he's going to be a primadonna, the last few years of his career are going to be ugly and short.

ianbusby57 Stampeders OC Dickenson: “The biggest reason we made this decision is Drew’s play. When he came in, he did provide a spark. He played well.”
ianbusby57 Stamps OC Dickenson: "We need good ball security and Drew has shown he’s more careful with the ball. He’s produced and it’s time.” #cfl

I like Henry Burris the person. Super nice guy but that doesn't change the fact that he's having possibly his worst year in the CFL and has been hurting the team with his turnovers and poor play. I don't have any issues with his comments as it's probably pretty humbling for him. He's not the only issue with this team though as DD needs to start calling a better game and Jones better get some discipline in the defense fast as if the Stampeders crash and burn in the 1st game of the seasons I don't think anyone should feel comfortable on this team and Jones defense has been the most undisciplined in the leaggue for years now.

Look for Barker to go after Burris and Fantuz in the offseason. Probably a very good chance he gets both or at least one. Will Moon become an Argos fan if Henry goes to Toronto?

I hope to see Reynolds stapled to the bench while the superior back in Cornish gets the vast majority of the carries.
Reynolds should only play for the plays where Cornish needs a breather. If Cornish is good to go he's a better back in basically all facets of the position.

Henry is a good guy, but he is a baby, and me first person. The MOP he won last year is probably more cherished then the Grey Cup title he won.
Its a good thing Burris has been humbled, and he always does this rests on the laurels of the previous season. After 1 great season, he follows it up with a stinker of a season. The only time he has had consecutive good seasons has been 07 and 08, one year where the team self destructed and Higgins got fired, next season wins Grey Cup.
When Henry Burris is firing hes really good, but when hes off he is the worst player in the CFL. The problem is hes been off pretty much the entire year.
Now lets wait for Moon to come here with his rubbish, and talk about how the receivers didn't play hard for Burris. The problem is Burris didn't put players in positions too succeed, and Tate puts the ball in areas where playmakers make plays. Burris chucked it too the turf or the other team.

Yup Reynolds should not see the field unless its to give Cornish a breather. Cornish makes plays, Reynolds just did not get it done. Even when the O-Line gives no holes Cornish makes a play happen, where Reynolds used his speed and power to get a few yards before, he no longer has that step and would just go right into the linemen and fall down.
Tate and Cornish seem to have good chemistry as well, I think Cornish can be a 100 yard 100 yard back, hes got the talent.
