If you like classic rock or funk or wicked guitar solos you're doing yourself a disservice if you've never heard this song:

Now shortlisted for the Polaris Prize and likely won't win as the album runs short at 7 songs but you can't deny them!

Cody Canada & The Departed "Water Your Own Yard"

This band reminds of CCR.

I went on a big Cross Canadian Ragweed kick there for a while a few years ago. Proud Souls is a good slower one, 42 miles is good. boys from oklahoma another good one. Lots of good tracks.

Not many people know about them here. I heard them through XM.

I just picked up SPIN magazine's issue commemorating the 20th anniversary of the release of Nirvana's "Nevermind". This is one of my favorite albums, even though I was too young to be a part of the craziness in 1991. As for a particular song, I'll go with "Drain You". Nice mix of pop awesomeness and intensity.

For any Mumford and Sons fans out there, this is a new song that should be on their new record. Not sure when that is supposed to be released though as I believe they are still recording. Listen now, thank me later.

Tell 'em you're sick. Go home!

On another M&S note, I am a huge fan of this performance of Dustbowl Dance. I like how Marcus sings and plays the drums.

Oh, and if you haven't figured it out yet, they are currently my favourite band.
