If a prospect like Bourque is on the table for Tanev, then Conroy and his Amateur scouting staff would have to decide if they think they have a realistic shot at getting a better player than him in the draft with a late 1st. If they think they can, then hold out for the late 1st, but if it's close then take Bourque and save yourself the 4 years of development time as an added bonus.
