For example, it took me ages to be able to adjust the width of the Start Menu because the interface wouldn't allow the stylus to make that adjustment, even though it could adjust the Start Menu vertically.

Also, how can Edge not support touch gestures for forward and back, when Chrome does it seamlessly??

That said, I'm still really enjoying the new OS overall.
I had Cortana learn my voice only and it works great the only time it doesn't is out of a reboot or out of standby. I click the Mic once then the rest of the time hey Cortana works.

Went and tried it, and you're right. However, the reason I thought it didn't work is because when I first tried to set it up, it ran a mic check and told me my mic wasn't sensitive enough to make it work.

Thanks for the tip.

I had that too on Windows 7.

You have to change your language setting to English(US) in order to get Wndows 10 to download.

Here's a better explanation:

This worked for me.

OK, here's another one...

The touch detection in Edge seems to be terrible at times. Unless I zoom in to an extremely close degree, I have no chance of hitting the Most Recent Unread Post icon on Calgarypuck. Instead it just selects the closest text-based link, such as thread title or name of thread starter.

Appreciate the tip, but my reservation finally came through before I could get any other method to work

My PC has frozen 4 times on the new screensaver since the update on Thursday. Restarting is the only fix. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

How about turning the screensaver off and instead just have the display turn off after so many minutes? That's what I've run for years now and there's no issue in 10

So I installed windows 10 on a six year old laptop that has continually been freezing on me. So far so good, no freezing and I now regret a little bit buying the new notebook. As it stands it's the only computer I have that took the download without forcing it.

Is anyone else having outgoing video issues with Skype and Windows 10?

I Skyped with my parents today and while they could hear me the video of me kept on freezing. I had the same issue with the Skype app on my Samsung TV but when I started using my PC and Windows 7 it was fine besides the occasional hiccup.

Mike F, finding all the same frustrations as you on my surface. Missing Windows 8.1 in a lot of ways. Its small things, and its so close to being awesome, but just a slight step back for tablet mode.

To throw in a positive, It has really integrated the handwriting recognition capabilities of windows and the SP really well. If I'm in Edge and I "click" with the stylus in a field where text can be input, it automatically brings up the handwriting interface.

If I could handwrite worth a damn, it would be super convenient

I'm tired of waiting, I'm forcing the update now.

I have the update downloaded in that hidden folder, but since I'm not in a hurry, I'll wait and see how long it takes for Windows to actually tell me to update.

Upgrade went smoothly, but some settings are wonky. It wanted to use 1024x768 resolution on my 2560x1440 monitor, but once I forced that resolution, it was like "Yep, you're using the native resolution." Uh, duh?

My wireless adapter didn't work at all at first, and then it wasn't recognizing the 5 Ghz band, but now it seems fine. I can't seem to set my default city for weather? Weird. Poking around into other settings and things now.

I've had the update fail on two Windows 7 machines. Says the reservation is complete. Says the download is complete. Then it says there will be a 10 second prep of the computer, license agreement and then install. Sits and says working on it for hours without ever getting any further.

Just updated my HP Pavilion Dv6 from 2011 with 64bit windows 10, no issues. Testing all my apps to see if everything is working accordingly.
