Actually I wasn't going to post again and then I got a lot of support via PM from other members who didn't want me to go. I even told them I would say what I had to say about my favourite player and how I felt about the loss we all feel and to remember them by being better and kinder to one another, I said right in that post I would go back to lurking and you came in very inappropriately and made it about you not wanting to see my posts which is extremely distasteful! Then I have the usual disturbed members trashing me in this thread as well. So between you all you convinced me to listen to those who messaged me and not let bad posters drive me away. If none of this had taken place guess who still just be lurking and not posting? You made me change my mind. If you do t like my posts you can put me on ignore because many actually do appreciate my insights and news. Listen, life is too damn unpredictable and short to get wrapped up on what anyone says on social media. It took me a few days to wrap my head around that. So if you want to follow me around and try and drive me over the edge like ZM and Nik do and a few other posters do because you have that much hate for a stranger online go ahead man, I am no longer engaging in it. It isn't worth it. What would be much nicer if maybe we all took a page out of what Meredith said about trying to be better people and kinder just like the two great people who were tragically lost to this world.

How do you think the guy flashing his lights behind him would have reacted to GGG slowing down to slide in behind the car in the right lane? I’m guessing not well.
He could accelerate when he’s already doing around 10k/hr over the limit. Personally, my sense of civic duty doesn’t extend to getting a speeding ticket because some rage lord behind me can’t wait 15 seconds for me to pass someone.

Can’t you go ONE MONTH without replying to me??
It’s not civic duty, it’s safety. Making a rage lord more angry and putting yourself in their way is a generally stupid way to drive, but go on I guess. The idea that you’d get a ticket for passing the car beside you so that the rage lord can zoom past you is kind of absurd but I’ll let you cook.

Nah, that’s just a meme on this forum. Speeding and driving aggressively are responsible for way more accidents. Look at who has the highest auto insurance rates and how they drive.
It’s funny how people can on the one hand passionately denounce impaired driving, while giving the okay to excessive speed, impatience, and aggression. The guy who was tailing GGG is as dangerous on the road as someone who has four beers in them.

Threatened to fly out to here and beat me up this summer as well. Totally unhinged dude. It would be in his best interest to be officially done with this board because it seems to really set him off in a bad way.

Nobody is giving the OK to them. The point is literally to get out of the way for your own safety and everyone else’s. It’s called smart, defensive driving, something most of us learned in driver’s ed.
It’s funny that people who complain about the moderation of an internet forum are the exact kind of people who roleplay policeman when they’re driving the Deerfoot.

Uh, what? If you're passing someone on the Deerfoot in a reasonable fashion you're not obligated to gun it to 140+ just because some impatient idiot in a white Ram is behind you.
Same as if you approach someone going slower than you but they are passing someone, you just reduce your speed a bit until they've passed and moved over.
If you're only passing at 1km/hr more than the car you're passing, sure pick it up a little bit and not drag it out forever.
This new way of condoning ####ty behavior over fear they're gonna follow you home is ridiculous.
I feel like each day this place has transitioned farther and farther into Bizarro World.

Yeah I can never understand wanting to drive in front of someone who wants to go faster than me. Just move over and let him. If the police catch him, so be it. But me holding him (or her) up isn't going to make them a better driver. It's going to irritate or aggravate them, and I don't want to deal with that crap. I just want to get to where I'm going.

Speaking of aggressive drivers, WRGMG (at least on my commute to the office today): pedestrians that are too "polite".
I often meander through Altadore and Mount Royal to drive downtown, rather than take Crowchild to Bow, and this morning I had encountered:
1) A pedestrian trying to cross from the NE corner to SE corner of the intersection of 38th Ave & 16th Street SW stopped and flagged me to 'go'. She was trying to be 'polite' and let me, going on NB 16th and wanting to turn right onto EB 38th Ave, go first. She didn't realize there was a guy behind her right shoulder in a car on SB 16th wanting to turn left onto EB 38th Ave, and HE had the right-of-way over me because he was there first, and SHE had the right-of-way over both of us. So, the other car was sitting there waiting for her to cross, not realizing she was waiving ME through, while I technically was supposed to wait for both the other car and her. She should have just crossed, I would have let the other car make his turn, then I would have gone, but nooooooo: she had to be "polite" and #### it all up.
2) Two women walking EB on Prospect Avenue stopped at the corner of 8th Street to—presumably—cross 8th Street. They looked left and right for traffic, so I stopped to give them the right-of-way, and they just stood there and waived me through. After I stopped to let them cross a car on EB Prospect stopped before making a turn on NB 8th; they had to yield right-of-way to me, because I had no stop or yield sign and they did, but I had stopped to let these pedestrians cross. But they refused, so we're all ####ing sitting there waiting for these two to cross and no one's moving. So I gave them a three-count and then drove on. If they would have just crossed the other car would have made his turn in front of me while I was stationary for the pedestrians and all would have been well, but noooooooo, they had to be "polite" and waiting for another break in traffic on 8th.
I know I've mentioned before in at least one other post how Calgarian drivers are often too "nice" and should just follow the damned rules, but the problem extends to pedestrians too. So annoying, and it makes the whole situation less safe for everyone.

I don't have a side in this little squabble you guys have going here, but dude...you are your own worst enemy at times. All these guys said you couldn't stay away, and you proved them right again.
If you want to stay on CP, that's all fine... but for your own well-being and reputation you really gotta drop the melodramatic exits, because it's basically turning into a meme. Next time things get heated...you need to learn to take a breath and walk away before the grand declarations come out. Otherwise all it does is feed the fire, and the cycle repeats.

Do cameras present any context why you’re speeding? You’re doing 130+, you’re going to get snapped. Doesn’t matter why.

Did you read GGG’s post? He was passing the car in the right lane in order to move over. He just wasn’t doing it fast enough for the liking of mister high blood pressure behind him.
