Yes, but arguing a nonsensical point is exhausting for the rest of us.
I don't consider that 'recreation'

Andersson has been dealing with visa issues since he was dealt to Vegas on Sunday. The issues have yet to be resolved and head coach Bruce Cassidy said Thursday that his status for Friday's game in Toronto is still up in the air. Andersson had 10 goals and 20 assists in 48 games with the Flames before the trade.
|
And he's out tonight in Boston.
Wonder why this is an issue. How can a player play for a Canadian team, and play most of it's road games in the US and then get traded to a US team and can't play in the US because he came from a Canadian team?
All while being Swedish?

Maybe he said something Trump didn’t like. I mean, that’s the current standard for American foreign policy, right?

I assume he needs a work visa for the States as he's now employed by an American company. I don't ever remember this taking much time, certainly not for players coming up to Canada.
I suspect with the massive cuts and other BS, the US department that grants Visas is a little out of sorts.

100% work visa issues, Trump has not made it very easy to obtain one lately.

It would be a shame if Vegas lost a few more games while being down Whitecloud and Ras.

Yes, you’re probably right, he probably needs a new work visa to work for an American company in the United States, and the department that issues them is stretched pretty thin right now.

Its always been an issue for a non US citizen to get traded from a Canadian team to US team. They need to get an US Visa to work and live in the US.
Even when a non Canadian gets traded from a US team to Canada they also need to get a Canadian Visa to work and live in Canada.
The difference being that the Canadian NHL teams have a much bigger pull and understanding with Canadian immigration officials than the NHL has with US immigration officials. So it is usually quick for Canadian teams to get their new players visas compared to US NHL teams.

It could take Kadri months to get a work visa if he's traded to a US team.

It’s because Sweden didn’t give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize

He was in Colorado for three seasons, they may have gotten him a green card.

He'd need to be a citizen, I am pretty sure green cards expire after long periods of non-residency

Please no more politics ...
this has always been an issue.
I'm just surprised the league hasn't found a way to work this out.

I feel you're asking a bit too much from Gary and the league.

I'm impressed with Whitecloud so far. Looks like a very steady top 4 d-man. Hopefully they can flip him for a 2nd+.
If the return for Andersson becomes:
1st, 2nd, 2nd, 4th and Wiebe
That's pretty solid for a guy who was ultra picky abuot where he went.

I have a green card and am not a citizen. Mine is good for 10 years regardless if where I live.

If Whitecloud doesn't get you a first, just hang on to him, move Weegar to the left side, and keep going.
Whitecloud isn't enough of a difference maker to win the team points in the standings, but is going to insulate the team from getting obliterated and embarrassed, which is key for developing young players.
