The Islanders used that 16th pick to take Barzal, then traded pick 33 along with a 3rd rounder to Rangers for 28th OV and took Beauvillier.
Pretty shrewd moves for the Islanders. All for Griffin Reinhart.

Looking at chia pet…you can see the gears turning.
“Watch this move…in 10 years they will still be talking about this on CalgaryPuck.”
Just not the way he thought!

Chia visiting the world's worst psychic earlier that week: "I can see the future... one day, Reinhart will win back-to-back Stanley Cups... Yes, yes... I see the Oilers there too."

Thinking about the GreaseFans looking at Carter Hart….He last played in January 2024.
That will have been 18 months+AND a mentally exhausting trial back. And they think he’ll be ready for Prime Time speed?

Snow wasn't a good GM but boy did he fleece the Alberta teams. Dobson and 2 x 2nd round picks for Hamonic is almost as bad a fleecing.

Edmonton was almost No Show at the draft. So on the bright side, they did themselves very little damage by making foolish picks.

They're getting smarter. No point even showing up if the guy on the cover of The Hockey News is already taken before their first pick.

That's Edmonton math for you. Summer is the only time of year they can count higher than 10, because the rest of the time it's too cold to take their shoes off.
