Nobody has ever accused Schneider of being good at managing the bullpen

I would argue their health is most important. He has done ok?

Ugh Hoffman. Dude sucks. I knew as soon as they tried to bring him in for a 4 out save it was a bad idea.

Get a new closer or it will cost them the playoffs.

This is what happens when you keep leaving runners on and don’t add on
And you can’t have a closer where every 4th game is a disaster

I guess the O's and Braves were on to something when they backed out of the deal. It likely wasn't an injury they probably just realized that his good season last year was smoke and mirrors and calmer heads prevailed.
They gotta find a way to come back because losing a series at home to the White Sox is unacceptable.

Losing to the Sox two games. Terrible. I thought they were getting hot. Not so much.

I didn’t like the pull of Bassitt. They should have let him come out with the goal of using Yariel to clean up if he got into trouble but ideally pitch the 8th and hand it over to Hoffman in the 9th. Little looks like he is worn out and needs as many rest days as possible.
Hoffman hasn’t ever been a true closer. He might only be a set up guy. It is probably worth swapping his role with Rodriguez for a while…at least until Yimi comes back. Hopefully Hoffman can get things sorted out in some slightly lower leverage situations.

Completely agree and you see the results of the early pull down the line. Pitch count was low, he had no issues, he gets an extra day of rest - but managers will never, ever learn I fear.

Ah baseball. The dude with a 0.418OPS through 30 games gets a single. And then the perennial MVP candidate hits into a double play.
