How do you even play after that ? The coaches are in tears the players are in tears. The fans are in tears.

That package was primarily Flames highlights. It’s nice they didn’t leave out the big moments or him talking about our city.

It’s great to see Sean get his career back on track after all those injuries.

As a lifelong Flames fan the Columbus opener was actually way harder to watch. It was beautiful. I guess just having the family there with Monahan and it being his current organization and fans really got me.

Also dispels the idea thrown around earlier that it would be years before the family would be ready for a number retirement and that it would be inappropriate to do this season. I would really like to see it happen and think it would be embraced by his family at any point.

Blue Jackets with a home run remembrance. Visceral.

I think what made it so good was that Johnny narrated it and showed a pile of clips more of what he was like as a human being, not just cliche hockey answers but legitimate rich quotes about his life. It was beautifully done but also I found uncomfortably sad to watch.

It wasn’t a jersey retirement. Not even close to one.

It was a banner to honour Johnny hence the 1993-2024 on it.

Okay, that's not what I was saying, I completely understood what this was as I watched, ffs. It was the fact that his family was all there on game one to honor Johnny, where people were suggesting it would be years before we could retire his number here because they wouldn't be ready to be in public in support of Johnny. Like Jesus Christ, man, I can see the disdain towards you and your pedantry.
