Also, Miami loses two championships in two days.

Not sure Florida is a lock to even make the playoffs next year. Let’s see what happens.
No name goalie winning Cup shows lack of value in that position in today’s league.

We all do. We all do. Be happy you got to see it go this far. And thank you for being a gracious fan. You could have rubbed this in Flames fans faces but always took the high road. Tonight sucks but I hope you look back fondly on it someday.

That was pretty awesome seeing Stone get the hat trick. Vegas is really a very likable team.

The Knights gambled to win or die on that Hill. It definitely paid off.

There is a ton of value in goaltending still, Vegas doesn't win this cup without Hill putting up his .934 save percentage (best among qualified starters im the playoffs)
Problem with goaltending is you never know who is going to provide that value on a season to season basis but you still need a good goalie. It's a conundrum.

Imagine you're a fan of some other team and you're living in some other market in 2004.
Now imagine you've been predicting Calgary losing to the divison #1 Canucks, league #1 Wings and then other division's #1 Sharks. Imagine being wrong all three times, and instead of finally giving in and pulling for the little guy, you decide to double down on them losing to the their next opponent, the other conference's #1 Lightning. Now imagine poking fun at Calgary's best player getting hurt in Game 3 of that final, playing Game 4 with one arm and then missing Game 5. Then imagine cheering as your newly-favorited, ultra-stacked team from Tampa destroys that low-seeded team with a "hot goalie and one good player" that "has no business being in the playoffs."
Imagine being a complete rando who has zero riding on the outcome this fight you find yourself watching between an actual giant and some dude named David with a slingshot. You don't know what started the fight, who anyone is or what any of this has to do with anything... but you stand there anyway, jumping up and down with glee as you watch the giant squash slingshot-boy into a pile of goo.
Imagine your a fan of the Flames team from the first story, but instead of cheering for Florida or David, you're cheering for Vegas and the giant, because "f# underdog Cinderella stories."

I think this almost his point. Goaltending is important. But is spending a lot of money on a goalie important? For is just so random that you should just try anyone.

Goaltending is a team effort, and that effort can demoralize and destroy a goalie especially when the coach forces a struggling goalie onto the ice over and over.

I mean, I'm still a hardcore Flames fan, much to my detriment. Doesn't seem right to rub it in my own fandom's face.
I will enjoy this. It was truly special. Just beating Boston alone is something I will look back at fondly.
Again, if this were closer, I could take it better. I just hate being beaten so soundly in a series, no matter what the context.

Nope
The reason is "f# Matthew Tkachuk"
If this is Florida with Huberdeau and Weegar I would have 100% been cheering for them...but once again f# Matthew Tkachuk.
