Lol, dude quotes a Trump Jr. tweet, tweeting a Project Veritas video. Seems legit.

A Republican is in deep ####, and within weeks Hunter Biden and Project Veritas are back trying to get in the front pages. This playbook has gotten to be way too old for Matt Gaetz, that's for sure.

I thought MSNBC and CNN were recently beating FOX in the ratings? Some FOX viewers have moved to other channels.

MSNBC's 'Rachel Maddow Show' ranks first among programs, while CNN scores a demographic win and Fox News tops primetime in total viewers.

CNN, Fox News and MSNBC all found reasons to crow about their performance in the first three months of the year: MSNBC had the most watched program in The Rachel Maddow Show and led the full day in total viewers. CNN had the biggest year-to-year gains and led both the full day and primetime in the key adults 25-54 demographic. Fox News ranked first across all of cable in primetime viewership for the fifth straight quarter.

The numbers for March, however, tell a different story. Fox News held the top spot across the board for the month, but all three networks fell by at least 19 percent in total-day viewers and by at least 40 percent in adults 25-54 compared to last year.

Its still a CNN producer admitting what they did though. It's also trending on twitter and that's why I posted it.

I mean, when you start verbally abusing staffers from a specific organization, and calling them fake news for items like them showing and counting on the crowd size of your inauguration which you clearly lied about, some staffers are going to start going against you.

It's not right given how CNN markets themselves, but don't verbally abuse people from an organization and then expect them to be able to treat you rationally.

I've been pretty outspoken with my belief that most of the big media outlets outside of Fox were in the can for Biden since the primaries (and still are), but I still wouldn't trust Project Veritas.

I'm not following your logic here. CNN's had increased ratings while Trump was president, so we shouldn't be surprised that CNN was trying to get Trump out of office? Isn't that the opposite of what they would be doing if they only cared about ratings?

I do think CNN has taken on the role of being the moderate left antidote to Fox News right wing bias. I don't think that is a good thing, but I also think that CNN's personalities were genuine in thinking Trump was objectively an unfit president, and had responsibility to make sure the country saw that.

Also a CNN technical director is not a producer. I doubt he has any editorial power.

Sigh.

https://theintercept.com/2021/04/12/...tencing-biden/

Quote:
THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION is expected to announce support this week for the temporary extension of a Trump-era policy expanding mandatory minimum sentencing to cover a range of fentanyl-related substances. More than 100 civil rights, public health, and criminal justice advocacy groups sent a letter last week urging Congress and President Joe Biden to oppose any extension of the Trump policy.

Biden ran on a platform that included criminal justice reform and an end to mandatory minimum sentencing, a practice he helped establish during his time as a senator in the 1980s and ’90s. Criminal justice and drug policy advocates say extending the Trump policy would be an abandonment of those promises and a return to the kinds of strategies that escalated the war on drugs, mass incarceration, and the opioid epidemic. Current laws impose a five-year mandatory minimum sentence, and a 40-year maximum sentence, for selling substances with trace amounts of fentanyl analogues in a mixture weighing between 10 and 100 grams.

Sorry to say, it shouldn't shock you at all that Biden is doing this. It's not like he's historically been as liberal on drugs as say John Boehner has.

Biden was one of the primary architects of some key pieces of legislation in the War on Drugs. It is not surprising that he continues to hold some of these views IMO.

https://fee.org/articles/joe-biden-t...-war-on-drugs/

He was chair of the judiciary committee that created this bill: https://www.congress.gov/bill/103rd-...355/committees
Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994
Also co sponsored by Chuck Schumer... Man these guys need to get rotated out more frequently.

But yeah. Hard to get real change past the guys that actually made these laws in the first place.

The reason is simple, any reduction in percieved 'toughness' does nothing on its own to reduce drug use, crime or overdoses but will be giving the GOP a huge stick to beat Biden with as the overdose numbers inevitably increases.

It's the lesson the Dem's learnt from the Carter years, dont do anything until you are ready and willing to go big on something because you will own it

If rubecube doesn't take this as an attack (not everyone is attacking you friend, sometimes people are actually interested in your thoughts and you don't have to be on the defense), which its not, I am interested in what his/her thoughts is on this response.

Its seems crappy but reasonable for the greater good.

Seriously if you want someone’s opinion on something you should probably just ask them for it without implying that they’re overly defensive and following that up by trying to convince them that you’re not criticizing them.

I believe the word you were going for was “patronising.”

And unlike Mull, this IS an attack, and I demand you put the defences up!
