I have no doubt at all that the refs have been instructed to give Colorado every chance to win this series. Nobody could look at the non-calls and calls made (especially the timing) and tell me otherwise.

If I'm Peter's I'm punching the ref in the face on the way off the ice.
The Avs get away with a ton of hooks and holds and one hand stick defense and picks and nothing.
With the game winding down it feels like they were absolutely looking for anything to call on the Flames.

I applaud some of the optimism in here. Being a Flames/Stamps fan for 30 years I have a hard time sharing that optimism in the playoffs with the level of underachieving I have seen. Kudos to you.

No idea why I ever got my hopes up when it was 2-0. I’d bet my house we lose another painful one in OT. Probably on another goddamn penalty.

But as soon as they call a penalty against Calgary you just know someone will comment "You have to call that" in here.

This is bad even for the nhl. And I am used to Vince McMahnon style reffing.

I hate this!! Too much stress, and I'm shocked how the Avs are taking it to us. It's not just the MacKinnon line, it's seems all their lines have suddenly become elite!!

At least they caught the accidental puck over the glass. This league is so messed up in some ways.

3 GP, 0g, 1a, 1pt -2
0g, 0a, 0pt tonight.
Hard to win when your top scorer is that ineffective.

It's crazy how good MacKinnon and his line is. They're playing possesed, and won't denied. It's too bad the Flames top line can't match up to at least make this series more balanced. Flames just can't stop them and that's gonna be their downfall.

I rarely complain about refereeing but this game has been absolutely ridiculous. Flames win in regulation if not for the borderline calls on the Flames and the consistent non calls on the Avs. Embarrassing

Flames have more mental toughness than some posters here complaining about the calls. Yes it sucks but they have to play through it.

That’s got to be the referees fault, doesn’t it?

How many times did the Flames give up 45+ shots in the regular season?
Back to back games now - if someone didnt follow hockey, it would be easy to assume Col was the better/higher ranked team.

Flames have to steal one here. Take the momentum back & head home tied 2-2.
If the Flames manage to pull this one off, they win the next 2.

Well, I mean, the NHL wants American teams to win, it's that simple. I remember Sutter saying as much in the 04 series, he got fined for it if I remember right, but he came out and outright said it after one of the games, and it's obviously true.
I mean, the reffing has been inconsistent, but big, non-discretional calls have been ignored against the Flames all night.
Hockey Gods save us? We'll see.
