They deserved that game. Beat the Royals and the umps. Impressive.

And lost in the joke of a job Wolfe did today was how great Dickey was. Fantastic job today.

That game may have been the worst officiating I've ever seen in an MLB game.

And Zaun is 100% bang on. Hit Donaldson the first time......whatever. But if you're going to throw a warning out, back it up. Can't let the Royals continue to head hunt him and do nothing. And then throw out Sanchez? Bad enough. And then that last strike call on Donaldson was just throwing salt in the wound. Too transparent, you can't have an ump be that obvious in his intentions.

Was just about to post this same thing. 7 innings of a 2-hit shutout is a fantastic pitching performance, added on to that the short rest and that Dickey has not done well historically in short rest situations. Great series win.

Yeah I thought of all the horrible calls that one was the worst. So bad that the announcers were baffled and didn't immediately clue into the fact that it was 1-0.

I copied the wrong tweet, Escobar got hit and the Zobrist hit the two run homer.

Jays pitcher should've thrown as hard as he can and Martin should've somehow missed the ball, beaning the umpire right in the balls. Has this ever happened? lol

Oh wow that's laughably bad. Either incompetent or corrupt, take your pick. Umps at this level absolutely cannot miss a call that obvious and they don't 99.9% of the time.

Wolf made a mistake in the first, and then let his pride get in the way of things and allowed it to snowball.
And then there is Ned Yost, who has clearly gone senile: "I think Jim Wolf did a great job of understanding what was intentional and what wasn't."

"Hey, how can we ruin a fantastic afternoon of baseball?"
"How about we switch to Michael Kay calling a Yankees game?"
"Brilliant!"

Thus demonstrating the use of the term "there's a first time for everything". Zaun is just terrible... but he is right in this case.

Great piece in the new edition of Sportsnet magazine on Donaldson and how he has transformed the clubhouse. Worth the read.

I don't mind Zaun. I don't agree with him often, but he's an entertaining element to the broadcast.
