That's not an 83% chance, it's 83% of people voting for someone besides the Flames.

Is Douglas Murray still in the picture or is he no longer part of the Flames depth picture?

He was released from his PTO by the Flames about a week ago.

So the Kings get to play 4 teams in a row who are playing the 2nd game of a back to back.

Wild
Blackhawks
Oilers
Avalanche

All these teams play the night before they play the Kings. That's some pretty favourable scheduling.

Yeah, but they've already lost the first two of those games.

If I were a betting man, I would have to say the Jets are most likely to miss the playoffs. The Jets have the toughest schedule:

vs Vancouver
at Minnesota
at St.Louis
at Colorado
vs. Calgary

We also do not have the tiebreaker advantage against any team. Our only hope is to keep pace against the Flames, and hope the last game of the season is for all the chips, or hope LA chokes during their last 5 games.

Grantland's top 10 possible matchups for Round 1 this year. If you want to troll yourself, watch the video "ridiculous final seconds of regulation". All of the anger came flooding back, oh the memories.

2. Canucks vs. Flames: 50.3 percent

The Flames are still in tough to make the playoffs, but if they do, it’s probably going to be against the Canucks. And that’s good news for the rest of us, because this is a fun rivalry with plenty of history. These teams have met in the playoffs six times, and the last three have been decided in overtime of the seventh game.

More recently, these teams have some history, including the time then-Canucks coach John Tortorella tried to storm the Calgary dressing room. We’re not likely to get quite that level of bad blood in this one, but the odds are good that there will be some sort of blowup somewhere. And it goes without saying: These are two Canadian teams, which means every minor incident will get blown up into a full-scale Big Important Controversy.

This year’s Canucks have been an under-the-radar feel-good story, an aging core making the most of one last run even though we all agreed that their window had slammed shut years ago. Add in the fact that this year’s Flames are quite possibly the most likable team in the league, which will drive Vancouver’s notoriously thin-skinned fan base insane, and you’ve got a recipe for some great drama here.

Random old YouTube clips to get you fired up: I couldn’t pick just one for these two teams, so let’s go with the a trio of Game 7 OT winners: Joel Otto’s maybe-kind-of-kicked-in winner in 1989, Pavel Bure’s sure-thing breakaway in 1994, and Martin Gelinas’s 2004 winner (made possible by the ridiculous final seconds of regulation).

That game 7 tying goal makes you angry? It's quintessential Canucks - do something outstanding to give the fans hope, then destroy those hopes utterly shortly thereafter. It makes the loss hurt so much more.

Yes, at the time, it was devastating. The Flames were 6 or whatever seconds away from winning their first playoff series in I don't know how long, and the Canucks tie it on a play that Iggy had his stick slashed out of his hands and then tripped over it.

Obviously it played out the right way, thank you Mr. Eliminator.

That was b.s., as soon as the Canucks got the puck the whistle should have been blown.

It's all good. Karma got the Canucks in OT.

Jovanovski hopping up and down in the penalty box after Cooke tied the game only to remain in the box as Gelinas scored the series winner. Sweet, sweet justice.

I remember a goal Jovanovski scored by basically bowling over Kipper in the crease... No call. I think it was a game-tying or game winning goal, game 3? Man I hate officiating in the playoffs.

Not a fan of the "put the whistles away" tradition. To me it takes away from the integrity of the game. It's a professional league, big money involved. Make the right calls.

Speaking of blood boiling, I'm surprised they didn't post a clip of "The Save" from '94.
