I sold my 8 gig iPhone for $250 and bought my 3gs for $300 on kijiji. My wife sold her 16 gig iPhone on kijiji for $325 and paid $300 for her 3gs. We're hustlers yo. lol

When your phone is fetching, the 3G/Wifi is only turned on to do the fetch, then turned off again. With push, your phone needs to have a network connection on full-time, which drains the battery faster.

I think so. It worked for me, anyway. I had a ton of emails on it mostly from weirdos so you'll probably have to weed through a bunch of guys that want to give you 5% of what you're asking but in the end you'll get your cash.

How do you protect yourself when buying or selling on Kijiji? If I send a phone to someone, how do I know I'll get paid, or vice verse?

The only way I would deal remotely with someone via kijiji is if I used paypal to pay and funded it with a credit card; that way I could reverse the charges if I didn't get the item.

If I was selling via kijiji, I'm not sure I would sell remotely at all... I'd probably ask them to send the money via EMT or something and once I got it I would ship the item, but that's asking for them to take all the risk.

so just got back from rogers store:

"do you have iPhone 3GS?
"yep"
"32gig?"
"yep"
"sweet I'll take it, here my account info, I'll take a black one"
"oooh just looking and your not eligible anymore"
"what I talked to someone when they werent in stock about 3 weeks ago and they said I was"
"rogers changed HUP plan, call rogers and tell them this and see what they can do"

call 611....
"hi I want 3GS, got told no, but was told yes 3 weeks ago" (paraphrasing)
"ok let me transfer you to customer relations"

customer relations.....
"hi sir we changed our hup policy sept 15, and I dont have any iPhones in stock in my department but can I interest you in another phone, and I cant authorize a regular purchase of this iPhone"
"seriously..."

I sent email to rogers as I dont believe this is right, when they aren't in stock they promise the world and then when they get them they take it away.

How much data does everyone use in a month?

Also for those with the 3GS, or looking to upgrade to it. Do you think the 16gig model will be enough, or is the 32gig a better option?
- I only have ~10gig in music, but will probably also use my phone for pictures and video. I don't know how much space that uses.

My average use is approx 400 MB/month - I stream fan960 to my phone, which is a major part of that usage...the max I ever used is 800 MB/mo

It really depends - couple of things to consider:

* if you sync regularly, you can easily free up space by removing viewed movies. If you have very long commutes (or travel lots by plane), go for the bigger capacity - it allows for more entertainment options
* if you plan to sell the 3GS when the "next" version comes out, get a 32GB, resale value will probably be higher (based on current resale of 16GB 3G phones)
* availability of the 32GB - when I upgraded, it was impossible to find a 32GB phone, so I settled for a 16GB phone

Hope that helps...

^ Just read this this morning.
Just left Telus 3 days ago after 4 or so years to go to Rogers & the iPhone. haha

No issues with leaving Telus, I just wonder if I'm going to regret signing this 3 year contract.
Anyone think plan prices will go down?

^^ at least you aren't with Telus anymore! It should be interesting to see if anything changes from this. Competition can only be a good thing one would think.

With our luck as Canadian subscribers to mobile services the providers will collude to charge us exorbitantly more money, especially Telus.

The prices will probably be similar to what Rogers is offering right now (just check out data plans for BlackBerry and you see that there is very little difference)...

Telus/Bell might have a special introductory rate (e.g. 6GB for $29.99 but I don't expect any major price reductions...

Yes, it has been flaky for at least a week. It is very annoying.

My iPhone is maybe a year old or so now, and it's certainly not working like it was day one. It is seemingly slower, has more crashes, loads things slower...etc. I am updated with all the latest software.

Is there a cure for this? Should I do a restore through iTunes and see if it helps out at all? If I do a restore, does it erase all setting and stuff like that?
