To make the playoffs? Not a chance, unless it's 7-2-4 or something like that.
Four teams in the race for one spot - best record takes it. I would think they need 8 or 9 wins, plus some OTLs. 8-3-2 probably does the trick. 9-3-1 does it for sure.
You have to think STL goes something like 8-3-0 or 7-2-2

It's likely still 92 points. (93 at most, IMO)
That's 7-5-1.
St. Louis is in a stretch of 5 games in 8 days and their schedule gets more difficult near the end.
I don't think they're winning 8 of 11.

Have to remember that while STL is 2 ahead, Flames have 2 games in hand.
With even games played they're probably at least even with the Blues, if not up on them.
The Canucks might only be allowed to lose 2 or 3 more in regulation as they're behind the pace of CGY/STL now, but it's not quite that dire for the Flames - yet.

We still get Jersey’s first rounder right? We can always cheer for them to keep losing to get a better pick….

Not just Jersey's.
They'll have Jersey's and one of the Flames/Florida's pick, depending on how things shake out.
2 first round picks in this draft.
Flames probably aren't finishing bottom 10 and definitely aren't passing Florida, so they'll most likely picking with the FLA & NJD picks.
Yes, hopefully Jersey continues to tumble enough that that pick is in the teens.

That's what I'm doing. They can win on Monday though.

Plus, we don't want Florida to win their division in case they have an early exit from the playoffs.

Fortunately, that race looks like a three-way tossup at the moment.
At the moment, Florida is 7th overall. If they hold that spot, but don't finish first in their division and don't make the conference finals, their pick will be no lower than 26th. If the Flames squeak into the playoffs, their own pick will probably be 17th. Losing 17 to Montreal and keeping 26 is something I can easily live with, considering that it's a sunk cost.

If the Flames don’t make the playoffs, their pick will probably be 14th or 15th
Just push for the playoffs all the way. Huberdeau and Kadri need to continue to step up. Wolf and Coronato are the bright spots

17th-18th if we get in, 15th-16th if we don't
We need FLA to not win their div, and not make round 3. If that happens, the cost of losing our pick vs theirs will be relatively minor - well worth the entertaining season that we've gotten, with real growth from Wolf, Coronato, Zary and Bahl and the resurgence of Huberdeau and Kadri

Agreed. The way its trending, The NJ and Flames pick will probably be a wash in a swap anyways. They will finish around the same pick.
NJ pick may even be better.

I realize its a lot of teams to pass on the way down, but a little skid by Florida, and they’re in 12th.. Only 2 points and an extra game keeping them out of that spot.

The Flames fan has a ton to cheer for now-a-days: the Flames to make the playoffs, the Senators to pass the Devils, the Leafs, Oilers, Kings, Lightning and Wild to pass the Panthers. I want the Flames to be in the playoffs and own the 19th and 21st overall draft picks (going into the playoffs). That’s my dream now.
