Scott Wheeler posted his pre-lottery May rankings this morning: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/628...-misa-lottery/
A few interesting notes:
Schaeffer at 1, Misa 2, Hagens 3 ("Hagens is a top-five pick all day for me"). Brady Martin bumped McQueen out of the top 10.
He's ranked Reschny "one of [his] favourites in the draft class" at 15, but says he's higher on him than most and thinks he'll go later than where he's ranked him.
He has Potter at 16, Kindel at 20 and Cootes at 23, which are the other Cs in Flames' pick territory.
He's got Ryabkin at 27, but says he expects him to go day 2 now and considered ranking him in the 30s.
Tier 4 is 13-20 and tier 5 is 21-35, so pending some crazy lottery luck, Calgary should have a pick in both of those tiers.

I imagine all Flames fans are cheering hard for Toronto next round? Not because of some ridiculous "Cheer for Canadian teams" nonsense but because its the difference in drafting 22nd versus 29-32.
Go Leafs. Yuck.

I got the flames winning in attempt #27 today, one of the longer ones. I swear in the last week i've been able to hit it sub 10 most days.
Fingers crossed.

Not me, I'd rather loose 7-10 spots in the draft than cheering for the fricken Leafs

In terms of evils it remains anyone but Edmonton. Anyone and everything backing that sideshow is just flat out gross. Outside of that I can care less who wins. Considering the Leafs can do us a huge favour in terms of draft standing by beating the Panthers they have my vote.
The teams that most deserve to move up in the lottery are the Flames and Nashville IMHO. Will they? Resoundingly no chance. But how awesome would it be to have the team rise to #6 after this season of development and be able to take one of the top centers available.

Like Gridin last year, I expect to see the Flames take Ryabkin as a surprise with their late 1st. On a guy that projects to go in the 2nd but they have their eye on.

Go Leafs.
Not normally who I would want to cheer for, but I want the better position.
Also, there would be nothing worse then the Oilers winning the cup AND ending the Canadian cup drought.
Toronto is probably the best chance at a Canadian team taking that away from them.

Well I rather drop in the draft. I don't want Treliving to win anything especially him being in Toronto.
