I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. A guy they weren't expecting, had no book on had no video on, no experience against and likely not much of a scouting report.
If you can pitch at the AAA level and nobody knows what to expect from you, you can confuse a lot of hitters before they catch on. They did hit a few balls hard right at guys, but they also looked just a little off balance the whole time.
