If true I think he’s saying the quiet part out loud. That or what he’s saying is I could care less who you vote for after me, all I care about is me. That is also a very real possibility.

I went to find the whole quote in context and I still have no idea what rational idea he's arguing for there.

Kamala Harris opened Drag Race Allstars finale tonight, talking about the need to foster an environment where everyone can feel safe as their authentic self, and saying your ote is your power.
I was impressed.

I think I heard the first honest thing out of his mouth : “I am not a Christian”.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
3. Tim Walz - Walz is an interesting one because it shores you up in a state that was already "lean Harris", so the argument against this pick is that it doesn't get you anything you don't already have electorally. Does it help with neighbouring Michigan and Wisconsin? I'm not sure - probably minimally. But as far as who makes the best appearance, I think it's Walz. He has some friendly-dad-vibe warmth to him, he's very plainspoken, loves his "I grew up in a town of 400 people, I know the midwest" sort of rhetoric, and he also has a bit of fire to him in terms of the ability to be an attack dog where needed. Purely as a candidate I think he's the best option - clearly the winner of the "seems like a guy you'd have a beer with" test.
If I’ve learned one thing in life it’s that relatability is just so valuable in connecting with people. Look at Clinton and bush, they were just able to come across as people you’d have a beer or a bbq with.
Tim Walz is the guy that can connect with boomers, blue-collar and undecideds across red areas in a way that none of the others can. He seems like such a good counter to Harris and other Democrats.

I don’t think there is much evidence of a home state boost for a VP choice. So I think the only potential benefit is a narrative one. Picking old white mid west is saying I am not ajust a coastal elite like a Newsom pick would.
It doesn’t really matter which straight middle aged white mid-westerner she picks. It’s a DEI hire.

I'm not a Christian... I love my Christians! That's so ridiculously patronizing. I guess their relationship is just purely transactional. Give me power and I'll give you what you want.

What's weird is this is literally the most authoritarian thing he's said, but what I think he MEANS is something else - that he's going to make the country so much better that people won't have to care about politics anymore. Of course what he REALLY means is pure selfishness as usual - i.e., just vote this time, because i won't be running next time so it doesn't matter to me if you vote then.
