He seems like a smart guy and likeable, but kind of subdued and I hate to say it, but boring. I mean, boring should be good for a governing politician IMO, but I don't think boring helps this election. He might be a good candidate in the future, but probably not against a Trump ticket.

It's truly a testament to how great Kamala Harris looks. How is she almost 60?

Unions don’t love Kelly so that’s a big knock against him, but he’s changed his tune in the last couple days. Shapiro fought with his public schools and has been backtracking hard. Walz seems good but is Minnesota worth it if you’re gonna get it anyway?
Depends on your school of thought for the VP pick but I’d imagine Shapiro should be the front runner now with how critical Pennsylvania is. I’m sure the polling between those three is going bananas right now

I think one of the minuses for Kelly is that he probably had the best odds of holding the Dem Senate seat in Arizona in '26. Next man up probably starts with a 60-40 disadvantage to overcome, while Kelly is probably hovering just above 50-50.

I am not sure if the US is ready for a ticket that that doesn't have a white Christian straight man on it. I am not even convinced they are ready for Harris.

Ordinarily that would matter but everything is a very distant priority behind taking the best possible shot at beating Donald Trump.

Yea in my personal opinion I think Harris has been fantastic since becoming the top pick, she's come out of the gates swinging and would likely make a pretty great president. I just think that middle america is too racist and misogynist for her to win. I would love to be proven wrong though

I think the idea that the VP shores up votes in their own state is overstated. Didn't they lose whatever state Tim Kaine was from in 2016?

Nope, they won Virginia... barely. No way they win it without Kaine on the ticket. And he wasn't even a particularly good campaigner.

She won by 5%. That seems a little more than barely. I quite liked Kaine before he took that role, and he's fine now as a senator. He was annoying to listen to on the campaign trail for sure.

Yes it is most definitely just a meme, not a legit AP piece. I guess it's just the couch sex story combined with the name Jorkin Depeanus that had me dying.
