Leylah saves two match points in set 2 and takes out Elena Rybakina 3-6 7-6 6-4. It was not a great match from Leylah by any means, but a win is a win.

Yeah, the one thing about Leylah is that she never gives up. Even if she's having a tough day out on court, she stays in the fight.

Gabriel Diallo is having a nice run at an ATP Challenger event in North Carolina as he finds himself in the semi-finals on Friday.

He's had a pretty good year. He's painfully close to getting into that direct entry for the majors conversation now too.
If he can just figure out how to unlock the next level of his game, he's certainly going to find himself on the main ATP tour soon.

Forecast does not look good in Cincinnati, it's going to be a while before we see any tennis today.

It has cleared up in Cincy and play has started - Felix will be up first in likely an hour or so and Leylah is still a couple of hours away minimum.

It's still so funny to me that Cincinnati has a major tennis tournament. Of all the major cities in the world Cincinnati doesn't spring to mind

Celebrating 125 years of tennis in Cincinnati this year and they recently signed a new deal to continue playing at this facility for the next 25 years.

Charlie just obliterated a racquet - Obi-Wan Nadal will not be pleased.

Well if he loses to Monfils at least it will cool down the discussion he's just as good as prime Federer
Match is still far from over, I still have faith he will find a way to win

Meanwhile, Felix is up a double break on Ruud in the opening set serving at 5-2
Edit: Felix gets broken, but breaks right back to take the opening set 6-3

Felix up an early break in set 2 and appears to be liking the fast court conditions in Cincinnati (based on stats I have seen, these courts are the fastest this season).

Felix with a dominant win over Casper Ruud 6-3 6-1. He gets Jack Draper next.

Happy for Monfils but this is a brutal loss for Alcarav. He's now the #3 seed at the US Open might have to be at Sinner and Djokovic to win the title
