Grichuk and Diaz have both been better since coming back. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Rotation maybe finally getting traction too, that's several quality starts in a row now, including the ones against the Yankees.

Nice!! Hernandez is an interesting player for the Jays. He is 16th in the AL in slugging %, has an awesome arm, strikes out a lot (OBP .300) but again, when he connects it's often for doubles, triples and home runs hence the high slugging%. I haven't made my mind up on him yet tbh.

Happ continues to solidify his trade value which is nice!

Looking at the baby jays:

After mashing in Lansing Kevin Smith is now mashing in Dunedin. Tonight he was 3/4 2 RBI, 1 BB BA .324

Bo Bichette was 3/4 tonight as well. T.J. Zeuch 7 IP only 4 hits and 2 ER.

Yeah nice to see Smith finding his groove in high A. Had a bit of a slow start but rolling now.

Miguel Hiraldo mashed in the DSL today too. 4 hits and 2 of them were HR's. Can't wait to follow that kids progression through the Jays system.

Why is Gibbons bringing in Biagini?? Just leave Loup in there if Biagini's the only RHP available for now. Biagini should only pitch in blowout duty.

Umm, yeah. Now he pulls him out. Shouldn't have even been in there in the first place.

Great to see them win. Wasn’t pretty but it doesn’t matter.

I don’t care if the team wins 10 in a row - they need to sell at the deadline. They really need to get as many assets for their declining players as possible.

So nice to Grichuk continue his hot streak. There is still hope for him.

Diaz and Urshela I could give a rats arse about whether they catch on here because the cupboard is loaded with MIF's, but boy would it be nice if Grichuk could turn into something. Speed, defense, some pop in the bat. He and Hernandez could man the corners for years and be very useful, albeit imperfect players for the Jays. Sure would be nice if Alford could quit getting hurt/sucking though.

Any day that has a loss for Suck Showalter is a great day in my book. 3 in a row!

Agreed. Winning feels good, but it's the OriLOLes and they stink even worse than usual this year.

Nice to see the rotation coming around, but if they finish the season with Happ and Estrada still here that will be disappointing to say the least.

If they want to re-sign Happ, do it in the off season.

Blue Jays Claim Preston Guilmet, Designate Deck McGuire

Link

Quote:
This will be Guilmet’s second stint with the Toronto organization, as he previously tossed 14 1/3 innings with its Triple-A affiliate in 2015. The 30-year-old has combined for 260 1/3 innings at Triple-A with multiple franchises and logged a 2.39 ERA with 10.0 K/9 against 1.9 BB/9. However, Guilmet hasn’t been anywhere near that successful across 25 major league frames (9.36 ERA, 7.92 K/9, 3.24 BB/9) with the Indians, Orioles, Brewers, Rays and Cardinals. He made a pair of appearances with St. Louis this week and yielded five earned runs in two innings, leading the Redbirds to designate him on Thursday.

As pissed as we all are with Morales, it could be way worse.

Chris Davis is apparently on pace for the worst fWAR season since 1901.

4 more years @ $21 million.

Yikes
