ya he is basically anti-sky, and easily the best on the network

doesn't hype everything up unnecessarily

doesn't say literally when he really means figuratively all the time

I don't like it when he is co-commentator, but his half time and post match analysis is second to none. Insightful, straightforward and without an agenda.

It's funny how I disliked him as a player but really like his insight. Although it is not hard to be one of the best when you consider his colleagues, he's still good at his current job.

Speaking of former United players commentating - Roy didn't say anything stupid during the derby?

Never saw this coming

City substitute Sergio Aguero scored the deciding goal but Manchester United manager Ferguson felt referee Mike Dean was wrong to allow James Milner's opener.

He insisted City striker Carlos Tevez was in an offside position and obstructing goalkeeper David de Gea's vision.

I think it makes sense, he never had great physical talent so to play at a top level he had to be all there mentally, a lot of defenders probably like that

same sense I think Phil Neville is good when he's on MOTD

Michael Owen is horrible, Alan Shearer too

MOTD is ####ing unwatchable. Would be a million times better if all they showed was the 15 minutes of actual footage they have without subjecting us to those overpaid bozos and their inane cliches.

They have the formula there

Lineker is a great host

compared to the others I don't mind Hansen

Shearer/Lawro are just unwatchable

you would think they take stock how almost always when there is a guest pundit the show gets rave reviews

Neville, Bilic, McCarthy, Redknapp etc.

Lawro especially is bad, how can you trust a man to talk about football when based on his weekly predictions QPR would be 7th in the league and Swansea 17th

Norwich had 3 points stolen today, Arsenal gifted them by a lineman who should never work in the football league again

I thought he did a fantastic job, would love to see him get a run of Arsenal matches down the stretch...

For correctly calling a penalty?

OK.

BTW....he was working in the EPL.

working in the premier league is out of the question... football league is where those who do that would usually be sent

he called a shirt tug from 50 yards away, which the ref who was 10 yards away decided not to call, a shirt tug that if it was called like that all the time would result in 5-10 penalties a game

It was a stonewall penalty.

If he was 50 yards away or 500 - it is immaterial. Blasting someone for making the wrong decision is one thing, castigating him for making the right decision because you didn't think he was in position to do so is bizarre.

If there's any controversy about it, it should be why Jones didn't call it first.

again like I said

if thats a penalty it gets called 10 times per game, or basically on every corner, by the rules it is, but it isn't called that way and never has been

That was not a tiny shirt tug or hand on body.

He was pulled to the ground.

It was a cast iron stone waller. Yapping because the linesman got it right is bizarre.

go watch the highlights of any corner or set piece in a game and that happens multiple times

that is the complaint

the referee who saw it, had probably seen 10 other shirt tugs in the game and let it go

if they were called every time, and I think they should be, I wouldn't mind, but to call it then when it is let go so often is baffling

especially from a linesman
