Hard to pinpoint that player in a Lindholm deal.
Potential targets for Lindholm that would fit the mold :
Morgan Frost
Anton Lundell
Jesperi Kotkaniemi

Flamesnation writer drank some moonshine or something posting a story on why the Flames should trade Tanev to Edmonton for Holloway, Foegle, Ceci and a 1st.
Keep the cleaning chemicals under the sink Flamesnation, and lock the cupboard doors.

I really hope Seravalli is right about the return for Lindholm.
Either of the ROR or Horvat returns would be excellent.

I'm stuck on the Jets for Lindholm. Just feels like a fit to me. And Chevys gonna go all in. Kinda has to doesn't he?

So a project, 2 salary dumps, and ~20th overall? No thanks.

That and.... I don't think Edmonton does it either. I mean I'm sure anyone would pay a pretty penny to dump Ceci. But that's a lot for them.

Insiders putting word out the past couple days that Leafs are not going to be a buyer this year. Johnston on his podcast thinks they're standing pat because they are cap strapped, (gave out NMC to Bertuzzi and M-NTC to Domi) asset poor, and having a mediocre year anyway.
Friedman made similar comments today on 32 thoughts saying the Leafs are starting to think long term and not so much about this year.
Only mentioning this because they keep being brought up here as a suitor for Tanev or one of our goalies. Doesn't seem likely. Remember they couldn't even match Vancouver's modest offer for Zadorov and wanted retention. They really can't do anything and Treliving doesn't utilize the deadline anyway.

There's too many options for Hanifin or Tanevs services for Toronto to compete in a trade war. And too many of those option lie in the east without depleted pick or prospect resources.
Makes sense for Toronto to stand pat and maybe sneak in a waiver claim post deadline

Toronto had their chance when prices were relatively cheap a couple months ago. They whiffed/tried to play hard ball and the Canucks swept in and took (one of) the player they coveted. Now the team is waffling AND prices are going up as more teams are sniffing around.
Treliving blew it.

I can see Tre trading a 4th for someone like Stecher, Schultz, or Bogosian.

You have 2 potential top 9 spots for the rest. How will Ruzickas or Dubes get a better role? Who will they beat, which prospects will play on the 4th line?
|
If I were GM, I will move Kadri, Coleman next season. And may be Mangiapane if he is good at trade deadline. And we would give a change Dube and Ruzicka in top 2 lines/ice time before I gave up.

Toronto is in their window, standing pat would be stupid.
They just have to give to get and Brad all of a sudden doesn’t want to do that.
Maybe he’s learned from his Hamonic debacle.

Yes , I hoped we get top 3 this year, but it looks like we can't go lower than Sharks, Blackhawks, Ottawa. So we draft top 5-10 this year and top 3 next year.

I don’t recall Treliving ever trading a 1st round pick for a rental in the past… any time he included 1st round picks, the player was signed beyond that season. And since they don’t have a 2nd round pick this year, they would have to pay a 1st in order to get tanev. They really just can’t afford him.
I won’t be shocked if tanev is traded for a 2nd round pick + 3rd round pick/B-level prospect. I think that’s the typical return for a player like him.

Duhatschek speculating in the Athletic that the Flames could deal Lindholm for picks, and then use those picks in the summer to acquire one of the Otttawa’s young centres - Pinto or Greig. To be clear, this is just him spitballing, not a rumour.
I do think he’s right that the Flames will use the picks from selling their UFAs to target prospects and younger roster players.

Even if we forget that they're 2 of the best 4 forwards this season. Kadri has a NMC, and Coleman a full NTC this season, and a 10 team trade list after that.
The rumors are that Kadri just moved most of his family to CGY, and that he isn't planning on moving again.
I think that you could move a guy like Coleman to open up a wing spot, eventually, but I wouldn't move him to give Dube/Ruzicka an increased role.

Yup and also talked about Zegras, though admitted that a lot of pieces would need to fall into place.
