100% your campaigning worked against you. That was brought up as a gear grinder very early in the contest "people taking the fun out of voting against posters when they're openly campaigning to win it". No offense, it was just a little lame and made voting for you less fun, so many posters likely skipped you directly for trying to win it.

It was supposed to be more of a "nominate yourself and then let the board have fun discussing the posters nominated" Self promotion in that thread came off a little too "look at me, look at me!".

The saddest part is the drop off in votes once the other thread closed. It does tarnish the results as only the hard core posters know its still going on.

I think we need a V2.0 Poll with improvements based on feedback, experience.

Ultimately, it would have to be all groupsourced nominations not self nominations, but that would never be allowed, probably for good reason. Half this contest was virtually unknown or mid/nice posters that just saw a summer thread and wanted to be involved.

It has to be the right type of annoying that doesn't try too hard, but is also a choice voters can feel good about. Like they made the cool pick.

No, what I mean is it just had to be "annoying prior to the contest" not "I'm going to start being annoying for the contest", that's all. And it's not like that's a rule or anything I was personally advocating for, I'm just suggesting that I could see what the majority of voters liked and didn't like, and it was clear that trying to be annoying to win, or campaigning for yourself was seen as a negative overall.

The spirit of it for most voters was "we're all here scrolling all year long, let's vote for who annoys us while we do that" not "let's have a contest and see who can be most annoying starting now....and go!!".

Well its bit of a toss-up between Pepsifree and Fuzz, I think we all knew that they just didnt get a chance to prove it.

Ultimately it was supposed to be some light-hearted fun and then some skunks crept in and fouled the whole thing.

It was a neat idea to begin with.
