My son has been in love with the Antonov since watching 2012. Do you know when it is leaving and where we can get a good look at it?
So far all we know is it will depart tomorrow, it was originally scheduled to leave tonight at 9pm but that changed.
As an avgeek I should also note that this is not the Antonov from "2012", that is the 6 engined 225. This is the 4 engined 124. Still bloody impressive to watch depart though.

Holy smokes, YYC is seeing a HUGE increase in WestJet flying with their new winter schedule. The analysis below is from mega-huge avgeek "Johnny Aussie" from the SSP forums, who also happens to have much more detailed sources of routes and schedules, and takes the time to break it all down for us.

Yup looks like a big increase for YYC
Without triple checking this time so margin of error slightly higher.
Overall weekly frequencies are increasing to 640 from 545 last winter (used figures after last round of increases late Feb). This is 95 more per week!
This is comprised of 537 mainline and 103 Encore.
So overall only 8 fewer mainline frequencies compared to last winter.
The growth appears to be "pure growth." Meaning even with some of the flying being transferred to Encore, the increases in other routes are more than offsetting this.
YYC highlights (compared to last winter): new routes to YBR, YXJ, YCD, MIA, increased flying to YEG, YQU, YKA, YLW, YQR, YXE, YYZ, YYJ, MCO, PHX, SAN, ZIH and ZLO.
In comparison:
YVR is increasing to 396 weekly frequencies compared to 333 last winter. So overall up 63 per week. Mainline will be 327 vs 333 last year so a loss of 6 per week, while Encore will have 69 flights per week.
YVR highlights (compared to last winter): new routes to YXJ, YKA, YXT, YYJ, increased flying to YXS, KOA and LIH.
YEG is increasing to 354 per week compared to 298 last winter. Total up 56 per week. However this is at the expense of a significant reduction in mainline flying. Mainline decreases to 257 from 298, so down 41. Encore will have the balance of 97 flights per week.
YEG highlights (compared to last winter) increased flying to YYC, YMM, YQU, YQR, YXE, YYZ.
As Westjet continues to expand more time required to analyse the info!
That is approximately 7000 more seats per week out of YYC.
They have 30 -700's on order and I think 10 more -800's, but haven't take one since March, and they haven't got a -700 since May 2011. Doesn't look like they're getting another airplane this year. I had to look it up cause that seems like a lot of new seats with no new mainline airplanes.
