Wow, Struff just won a 15 minute service game. Charlie is racking up the unforced errors today.
Edit: We're going the distance in Madrid as Struff takes set 2 6-3. If Struff can keep his first serve percentage high, he has a real chance to pull off the upset.

Charlie breaks early in set 3. He's really getting the partisan crowd into this match.
Edit: That one break of serve was the difference in set 3 as Charlie successfully defends his title. He's now five points behind Novak for number 1 in the world.

I did manage to capture the 3rd set live (occasionally on youtube you will find WTA matches being streamed illegally) and Sasnovich just played incredibly well from love-3 down. The other thing she was doing was standing way inside the baseline on Leylah's serve and crushing returns. That's the biggest thing holding Leylah back right now, her ground strokes are fine, her serve needs to be a much bigger weapon.

That would be a real shame as there's a lot of history in Cincinnati. Also Charlotte is not an ideal location for August tennis as average temperatures are over 30C the entire month.

lol - I know the west coast has Indian Wells, but I think the western part of North America could use another ATP tourney (there is a ATP 250 on clay in Houston). There used to be that ATP 250 tourney in San Jose that Milos won three consecutive years if memory serves, but that tourney has been history for at least 10 years now.

Tough in Canada especially to get funding for the required facilities. Unless held in July or August it would have to be indoor.
