Does Canada have an heir apparent to Nestor? Are we developing another doubles star?
There's only one Nestor and nobody I know of coming who even approaches him, he will leave a big hole when he leaves - the next ranked doubles guy is Adil Shamasdin, who you might have seen on the bench during Davis Cup but hardly if ever plays, I think he was borderline top 50 for a while but he's around 100 now and he's in his early 30s. Milos and Vasek are the next two ranked doubles guys also ranked around 100.

I normally assume doubles tennis is mostly composed of players who are not good enough or too old to play singles. we might end up having a future Canadian doubles team that picks up where Nestor left off but...to be selfish about it, I hope that all our singles guys/girls wind up being too successful for that to happen.
and why is this thread and its sport being dragged through the mud and called effeminate in the hockey thread? makes me want to see a Crosby vs Nadal death match, which I'm fairly certain Rafa could end with a single punch from his hellboy left arm.
Ya I saw that too, don't worry about it, personally think it's just cultural relativism. Living in other countries I heard the same breed of mouth breathers with different accents trash talk ice hockey and gridiron football to no end while I was grinding my teeth.
In every country in the world sports that are different from the mainstream get ripped on and in Canada tennis is nowhere near the mainstream.

Sometimes I have to bite me tongue...errr....fingers? There's a lot I could say, but I won't. Frankly, some organizations could learn a thing or two from Tennis Canada on how to run things, but that's a story for another day.
Back to tennis:
Bouchard has advanced to the third round in Tokyo. She beat Sloane Stephens in a fantastic three setter.

Bummer. Bouchard battled hard, but ultimately lost in three sets to V. Williams. Good news is...on Monday, she becomes a Top 40 player and she's only 19!
