Wow. They're filing complaints with the UN. That's nuts!

Lawyers file Occupy complaint with U.N.

Edit to add better article: Occupy evictions spur legal complaint to UN

If they put that much actual energy into working or finding a job, they'd probably find themselves becoming the thing that they hate, the dreaded 1%.

And the UN can kiss my %%%, but then again Iran is part of the human rights commission aren't they? So we could end up with a peacekeeping force in Calgary.

has there been a response from Nenshi on this?

Are taxpayers paying for a planner to get these clowns organized?

He's been on Twitter, but hasn't responded to me.

Last I heard from OC person, who emailed me, was that they are discussing at one of their general meetings this weekend.

Here is one persons description of what is being offered.

A worthless protest complaining to a near worthless body. Appropriate, actually.

this has officially gone beyond stupid now. We're going to need to create a new word to describe how loony this has gotten.

Short video clip from the Herald.

http://t.co/f7dFoF5a

Like how the guy at the end seems surprised to see someone outside his tent.... at a public park.

Why? Because pragmatism and working together to find a consensus to defuse a situation often works better than bringing the hammer (at least in the real world). Or it's worth trying first.

Has anyone actually been to Olympic Park since yesterday? Are all the tents unoccupied now due to the cold?

Showing leadership often works as well.

So far all Nenshi's done is hope they leave when the weather turns cold, made an idle threat to remove unoccupied tents and contemplate giving these bums (because there is no genuine protest happening at Olympic Plaza) enough creature comforts so they never have to leave.

Really?! Consensus for what? Pragmatism applied to what? Meetings to cover what? How many weeks of nonsense and now we'll try something to resolve something? Is the city planner there to plan a problem statement for them so that the city can plan to solve it? The occupiers have long since abandoned the "real world."

Consensus in coming to an agreement to leave/relocate/change rather than moving them out by force. Pragmatism meaning finding an agreement that while may not be necessary (i.e. you COULD just push them all out) deciding to do that in order to avoid a less desirable outcome (i.e. deciding that the negative side of coming to an agreement is less than the negative side of going in and creating the confrontation they want).

One person's "weeks of nonsense" is another person's "letting things play out and giving people a chance for people to either show it's a reasonable protest, or give themselves enough rope to hang themselves".

"This isn't being handled the way I want" does not equate to "this is being handled improperly".
