I like it. IMO Gareth Barry should be there instead of Lampard, but other than, it's fine. Just happy that none of Terry, Cole, Cleverley and Young are going
It's actually sage advice; however, this is one of those World Cups I'll just sit back and watch from the comfort of my TV. I personally don't think the WC is going to be as successful as FIFA will want it to be. But... we shall see.
not a surprise, it was expected to be like this for some time and Nasri already said at the weekend that he was looking forward to watching the tournament on TV. Simply too much bad blood between him and the national team, he could have easily been a distraction for them once again

There cant possibly be more bad blood between the national team and Nasri than there is between the national team and Evra and they still took Evra.

Uhh... you were cut from Spurs, who didn't even have a legitimate striker to replace him with.. replaced with his re-tread strike partner, and an overrated Brazillian..
With his top flight options diminished, he flees to to play in a league that isn't in the global top 20, and a club that isn't in the top 20 of that very league.

Evra was one of those involved in that 2010 feud, but Ribery and some others were too ... why single Evra out? Those guys were either axed from the team or forgiven, Evra belonging to the latter bunch of players.
Nasri is a different case, he's a troublemaker and most French experts agree with the decision to not take him. Euro 2008, Euro 2012, the WC playoffs vs Ukraine last year ... Nasri was involved in some stuff every time and the French are probably better off without the drama.

C'mon son.
He doesnt have a terrible goal-scoring record for England, but yeah, behind England's golden-boy in Rooney and Sturridge who is in the best form of his career and then Lambert and Welbeck there was no way Defoe was getting a sniff.

I would wager it more to do with the fact that Ribery is effectively essential to the team and Evra is more important at his position than Nasri is at his, to France.
Anelka was easily replaceable and as such was jettisoned early, as is Nasri, Evra is less-so and Ribery isnt.

Sepp Blatter has admitted it was "a mistake" to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar because of the extreme heat players will face in the Gulf state.Speaking to Swiss channel RTS, the Fifa president said: "Of course, it was a mistake. You know, one makes a lot of mistakes in life.
"The technical report indicated clearly that it was too hot in summer, but despite that the executive committee decided with quite a big majority that the tournament would be in Qatar."
What a joke. Should never have been on contention in the first place.
Lineker's take.
Gary Lineker @GaryLineker6h
If we didn't know better we could be forgiven for thinking there were ulterior motives to awarding Qatar the WC. Wads of 'em!
Imagine the shock at FIFA HQ when, 2 years after the vote, someone spotted that Qatar's a tad warm in summer.
Blatter 'everyone makes mistakes.' Pretty big one. He's the man in charge. I imagine his resignation letter is being composed as we tweet!!!
Blatter admits it was a mistake to award WC to @Qatar in '22 as it's too hot in summer. You have one decision to make every 4 years! HELP!!
And the gongshow begins. Starting early this time. Better win this thing or he could be filing a lawsuit against half the country by the time things are done.
Quote:
Didier Deschamps, the France coach, has filed a lawsuit against Anara Atanes, the girlfriend of Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri, for insulting him on Twitter. Deschamps's lawyer has revealed that his client had filed a legal complaint for "public insult" against Atanes for messages she posted after Nasri was left out the French provisional World Cup squad.
Quote:
The French Football Federation has also condemned the remarks made by Atanes, who has since apologised for her comments. "I apologise if i offended anyone from france, My tweets were not aimed at the nation as a whole," tweeted Atanes on Thursday.
Seriously, how can you file a lawsuit against someone for expressing their opinion that you're an useless coach? If that was the case Rodgers would have sued Locke a long time ago.

Hoping and praying that Dortmund and Bayern don't kill each other today with the World Cup around the corner. Lahm is already done for the match with an injury
Muller scores in the 122 minute to make it 2-0 Bayern. I thought Dortmund was the better team and quite frankly, Dortmund won the match, they got robbed by the officials. Hummels scored and Dante cleared it off the "line", ie well inside the net
