Demonstrators gathered near the Whipple Federal Building after thousands attended vigils to remember Renee Nicole Good, who was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Minneapolis public school classes are canceled for the rest of the week.
Exactly. It's an organization of racist paramilitary thugs that should be dismantled. Then throw the RICO act against them.
They are clearly routinely breaking laws and then covering up the events, the latter of which is also a crime in itself, and in many cases shouldn't be that hard to prove.
No, no, all police routinely swap license plates. It's in the handbook.

And that the whole reason he even got into this was to avoid prosecution from his significant involvement in a child rape ring.
ICE agents were likely under orders to escalate anything close to violence.
The board is set; Trump has a big distractor available with a nearby war boiling. If he needs to cool down domestic, he can push on foreign war buttons to steal attention.
It is no coincidence that this event happened in the state of the VP Candidate Governor who is probably the best and most reasonable voice in the country countering Trump.
Gov. Walz's press conference yesterday is not getting the coverage it deserved IMO. He straight up put the Minnesota national guard on warning order, with the express statement that he may call them to force ICE out. That is civil war talk.
This is the plan.

Before. You don't think he can change the rules? He has already done so many times. If the US was still a place that followed the rule of law you would be right but it isn't.
I think that Minnesota wouldn't allow President Trump to do this, similar to his difficulty in combatting or dismissing charges in the state of NY, but IMO the shooter is far outside Minnesota already and unlikely to ever return.
Hang on, am I missing something here? Someone was pulled over by police and tried to run one of them over while fleeing. Are my eyes deceiving me or did I watch an AI video that is different than everyone in this thread?
Nobody was pulled over and nobody tried to run anyone over. A mom who was quite possibly dealing with a weather related car issue or minor accident at the time is aggressively approached by what amounts to be numerous masked Gestapo agents who are heavily armed and panics? This is now the bar for an agent to use lethal force? Just disgusting and anyone who is even remotely sympathizing with this action is disgusting as well.
Every week I'm further reminded why I want to stay away from that cesspool country until a time when things resemble something normal. What a grotesque lack of respect for human life and the President trying again to gaslight people into thinking she was trying to run someone over is just another level of absurdity.

They swarmed a ####ing highschool yesterday at dismissal. Used tear gas.
If you ever find yourself teargassing high school students, you might be the bad guy.
Why do they have teargas, anyway? Does enforcing paperwork require that? I don't get it. Sounds like they might be cowards if they need teargas for paperwork.

If he could then that dumb bitch in Colorado would be free. Now, what he can do is send the military in to break her out, but yeah even that is probably a bridge too far.

You might enjoy reading Timothy Snyder's "On Tyranny."
It's a quick read, and worthwhile for people wondering what they can do as an individual in times like these.

I’m watching the video on the front page of CNN. The three officers literally have vests that say “police” right on them. I’m not disputing that they were immigration agents. The video also shows that her vehicle made contact with the officer while she attempted to flee, before he shot her.
About a year and a half ago, the Calgary Police killed an indigenous man at the Carriage House Inn and we have still not seen the video as the police chief at the time stated that the public would not understand the context. Where is the outrage about that?
Maybe they should be in trouble for impersonating police?
Nope, you didn't see that. Vehicle did not make contact with the agent, she was actively steering to avoid him, when she presumably turned her head forward and saw he had walked in front of the vehicle, after looking backwards while reversing to go around the vehicle blocking the road as they had instructed her to do. Then he easily and calmly stepped about 2-3 feet away from the vehicle while he murdered her.
Edit: I can tell it is 2-3 feet away from the vehicle, because from the most common angle being shown on the news, you can see that his fully outstretched arms are not making contact with the vehicle. Given the typical arm length of a 6' tall man, that would put him a minimum of 2' away from the vehicle.

There's something be said of excessive force and even discharging a firearm in a residential area over something so trivial that the courts will absolutely look at (if it isn't fully blanketed by orange man). Stray bullets could have easily killed bystanders or residents, the vehicle could have struck pedestrians etc. Frankly it is a complete miracle this didn't end up horrifically worse than it did with multiple fatalities. Considering the situation, simply blasting their siren and instructing her to move out of the road would have been appropriate compared to what amounts to escalating the situation 1000x.
Only a complete lunatic would have responded that way to this sort of action. And yes, this is going to be the next thing that becomes commonplace in the land of the free. What a dump and downright deplorable place it has become. You can almost envision these losers driving up and snorting creatine jonsing at the chance to screw with someone.

Reading a lot of online comments and one that stood out was how the first step towards authoritarianism in America today was the Patriot act and the power it gave the government to withhold rights in the name of safety.
It made sense to use it as a starting point in that regard, but then I thought... does this mean Bin Laden was actually successful in the long game? His goal wasn't just to kill a few thousand people but to bring the USA to it's knees.. and as I look at the world today, American seems to be crumbling.
Maybe its a bit too much of a Baron Zemo storyline.. but in a larger historical context it seems like Bin Laden is getting what he was after, the death of America.
Anyways back to the mind-numbing work which keeps plebs like me placated to the bigger issues of the world...
