That said, F&F are going to need to produce more. Granted the whole team is not scoring, but a combined 8 points in 26 games isn't going to be good enough over the long term.
I think you will see a serious uptick in production as they get more acclimated.

Farabee looked amazing last game and was a huge difference. He just seemed tenacious and unwilling to give up on plays. Maybe a sign that he is adjusting well and has something to prove? Can't wait to look back on this trade when we have seen more from these guys!

Especially next season. This year has been a write-off for pretty much every Flames secondary scorer. In 13 games since Feb. 1, nobody on the Flames other than Kadri, Huberdeau, and Weegar has more than five points. Frost, Sharangovich, Pospisil, and Coronato all tied. I think with an offseason to reset (and maybe a top player added in free agency), the entire team will look more cohesive offensively next year.

Surprised he even said that, and not Huska holding them back.

We need more offensive defenceman as well to get these guys the puck to create and jump in.

Imagine adding Parekh and, say, Nik Ehlers to this roster.

Yeah I think Parekh will have an impact day 1.

How do we fit Ehlers into the top 9 that is already causing players to play 4th line that shouldn't be tho.

Is it all the secondary scorers having an off year or moving to a new environment, or it is the demands they're asked to play defensively suppresses chances offensively?

As defensive minded as Huska supposedly is, Farabee made it clear that he is being given more rope by Huska than Torts. Which is funny because his ATOI is less I think.

I think you trade Coleman this summer regardless of whether you get a guy like Ehlers. And then you start to push Backlund onto L4.

Top nine consisting of UFA X (Ehlers), Kadri, Huberdeau, Coronato, Zary, Farabee, Frost, Sharangovich, and either Backlund or Pospisil.

Ehlers probably gets $10 mil a year. That top 6 is nowhere near good enough IMO.

Need to wait until someone better is available, probably needs to be a trade too

I wonder how their fans are feeling about this
In all likelihood, Frost and Farabee will be the two best players in the deal. There is a chance Philly hits, of course, but the odds are stacked well in the Flames' favour

Even a trade is difficult those players don't come around often, and if they are a UFA look at Rantanen he forced his way to the team he was targeting in free agency.

Alex DeBrincat was signed and still got his way.

His ATOI number is a bit skewed right now from the one game where he missed a few shifts from that shot block I believe (9:51). He played 17 mins the last game with Coleman and Backs, I imagine he'll probably play around there going forward giving their chemistry.

I'd rather wait. Ehlers is going to get paid too much for what he brings. We will end up with 2 Huberdeau's if we sign him.

Ehlers just isn't that good.

Back up the truck for Marner who has less question marks and a 1.13 PPG career average.

If he's not interested, so be it. But these big contracts should be reserved for players who will actually move the needle.

He's been great over the last couple.

Methinks his hand is feeling better.

I don't want Ehlers. Was just stating that these trades seem to be difficult to make now and players are controlling things a lot.

If you want to look at free agency you only go after Marner. The rest will be regrettable contracts almost instantly.

We know this as we have lived through the Tory Bouwers and James Neal.

I've been waiting for Farabee to start showing what he can do, and it looks like he's coming around.

Ehlers doesn't move the needle much in the playoffs.
