A draw is fine now because Arsenal hung on against West Ham. But being good/lucky enough to hang on for a draw against West Ham is hardly indicative of anything other than a heavy defeat at the Etihad.

I’ve enjoyed this season, but there is no point even pretending that City aren’t by far, the best team in the EPL - regardless of hope this shakes out.

I'm guessing 69 or 70 points will secure CL football.

35 or 36 to stay up.

May be lower for CL

If newcastle beat spurs next weekend, I think it's over with united and newcastle too far to catch

Per the athletic, this is spurs manager shortlist

Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany, Ruben Amorim, Thomas Frank, Oliver Glasner and Roberto De Zerbi.

Two things

No poch is interesting

List shows how badly the club is being run at the executive level, a short list should be short ffs. These managers all play different styles and would need different types of players to do so. Levy and these new guys Tseayo from united and munn from Australia have no clue what they are doing

Do you think that they can keep Stellini through the season? That position looks more and more untenable every week!

I think that Munn actually starts July 1 though...so while he probably has no idea either, I guess we have to give him the benefit of the doubt because presumably all the major decisions are made before he starts this year!

And the big event this week for Spurs is the appeal for Paratici on Wednesday. I don't know if that means a decision is made that day, or whether that's just the appeal.

No Carrick is interesting too. Levy letting things get personal?

Anyone familiar with this FIFA EPL nomination process? Just bizarre.

Midfielders vs Attackers sure is muddy, positionally. Bruno not nominated yet leads the league in chances created.

But Kepa & Leno in there, yet no De Gea? GTFOH. DDG, has the most clean sheets, and will likely win the golden glove.

I'd fire stellini tomorrow, no offense to the man, but the whole system needs to be blown up to have a chance. Give Mason the reigns, ledley king, and chris powell. Bring in chris Hughton as well to stabilize

I think paritici is just the hearing, decision prolly a few months away

Ya my thoughts as well, Carrick is the one guy of the players who left who I bet Levy wouldnt welcome back now after seeing his name not on this list, eventhough Berbatov acted way worse, he scored too many goals, hes always gonna be welcome back

Some weird choices for sure, betancur had been great, but hes gonna end up in only 18 league games this year

Him over Bruno is odd

Ironically too, as Carrick complemented him saying he grinded Fergie for more than he was worth.

Spurs job is tough, feels like it is set up to fail. Seems like one of the toughest spots in the league as far as fan expectations vs. reality/actual upside. They really never should have fired Poch as I don't know if anyone could do better there based on the competition they are facing and how much they spend. But I guess those guys on the list probably get PAID if they take it on, so there's that . Feels like a guaranteed 1-2 years, handshake and payout and your career is on the downhill from there. Maybe one day they can find the magician who can beat the clubs outspending them by so much.

At the time poch absolutely needed to go

He was burnt out, and team had grown tired of his methods

Happens to almost every coach after 3+ years, outliers I can think of are Ferfuson, Wenger, and pep, the only ones who havent really succumb to it at a big club

Simeone should be in that convo too, albeit not EPL.

Well the Paratici situation is now crystal clear for Spurs. His appeal was rejected, but there is a new trial. Seems like Juventus has had their points reinstated temporarily, pending that new trial.

(I'm being facetious about the clarity of this situation because from things I see online, no one seems to know what is going on)

The Italians are notoriously clear, concise and transparent.

It really should be a no-brainer for Spurs...you get rid of the guy immediately. Saying that though, you would expect a professional sports organization to see that this trial and such could be an issue when you hire the guy and have some kind of a contingency plan "just in case" he's found guilty. Apparently though, that's a level of foresight that this club just doesn't have.

Apparently Poch is high on their list, which is horrible if true. At the same time, it could mean Spurs have a shot at Nagelsmann (and maybe we can have Rangnick as DoF at the same time, because Paratici is gone as of this morning!)

Or, maybe the complete disarray continues and despite all these options for managers and DoF's available we end up with a protracted search resulting in another Nuno kind of appointment.

Rangnick? I'd be very surprised if he left Austria anytime soon.

Yeah, I was just thinking that he and Nagelsmann were good together before, so maybe it would be a good fit again. I don't hold out much hope that we'd actually Nagelsmann though. Levy will probably do something like Potter because he can't stop himself from the Chelsea re-treads. How grim will it be though if he does that, and at the same time Poch goes to Chelsea and wins things?
