Bernie is going to catch a bullet from the grassy knoll if he keeps talking about the rich buying elections.

Chafee and Webb are wasting their time and money here. Bow out now fellas. I thought O'Malley held his own but he has a weird emotional vibe percolating below the surface. I thought he was going to start bawling ala John Boehner at times. He is certainly passionate on a few of the issues, gun control for sure.
Sanders is great up there. I mostly like him but I like Hilary more. She can't be pushed around. She is in total control up there on the debate stage. Very impressive. She will eviscerate whichever Republican gets the nomination imo.

Webb reminds me of Lee Majors. I keep hearing the theme from The Fall Guy when the camera is on him.

When they asked them who was their biggest enemies, and Webb said the guy that shot him in the war, but he's not anymore, since he took care of him, I guess meaning he killed the guy, and then had a big smile, he reminded me of a Republican in that moment, ala McCain.
He's not going anywhere, and neither is Chafee, even though he seems like a good guy.

Watching this just now and ... Holy carp. Anderson Cooper doesn't pull a single punch. Rips Hillary off the bat then calls Sanders a totally unelectable non-capitalist sandinista while happening to know the population of Denmark off the top of his head. Then actually creates a debate by going back and forth between Clinton and Sanders. Then calls Chafee a turncoat for being a member of both parties and an independent.
LC - "You're looking at a block of granite"
AC - "Seems like pretty soft granite..."
Now let's move on to blaming Martin O'Malley for dead black youth in Baltimore. Jesus H Christ man!
This is a political debate rather than a reality show for idiots, it's kind of refreshing after watching the stupidity of the GOP debates.

Can we get Anderson to moderate everyone from now on. Best performance by a moderator I've watched in a debate. Not afraid to call people out at all.

You want an openly gay man to moderate Republican debates?
I'm pretty sure every single Republican wouldn't attend haha.

Carcetti, Webb and Chaffe seemed to forget last night was maybe their only opportunity to get a big stage to present themselves, because they did nothing to help their cause at all. All 3 should be withdrawing from the race today. Otherwise like the GOP debates it was pretty meaningless, real debates won't start till it's Sanders vs. Clinton straight up. GOP will probably be a final four of Trump, Carson, Rubio and Bush so might as well cut it down ASAP so those debates can be more meaningful.

I'm not sure it was meaningless. I think it had more actual honest to goodness important to voters content than the GOP debates. I also think the democratic party as a whole won as by and large you had all aspects of the party on that stage from left leaning to right leaning to progressives to moderates and they are all remarkably on the same page at the high level. The differ in details.
I think that unity will serve them well as you move through the process as they aren't intent on slinging mud at each other but rather having a debate about some differences and RESPECTING those differences in their policies and beliefs.
It's a win for the party because they didn't have whole sections of the debate dedicated to trying to allow candidates to dig out from under misogynistic, racist or other brutal and simply mind numbingly stupid remarks. The next GOP debate you are still going to have that if Carson remains at or near the top.
Above all, despite Bernie looking all Bernie and Hillary looking like Hillary what you saw was a debate between 2 or 3 people who are qualified and PROFESSIONAL in their behavior towards people. Yes there is some false facade etc but it isn't nearly the same as what the GOP trots out.

Exactly, it was a wholly different debate than either of the GOP debates have been. The GOP debates are spent making faces at/about each other, displaying varying levels of bigotry, showing a complete disregard for accepted science, etc. There was no moment where I was ashamed to be an American during the Democratic debate. I can't say the same for the GOP debates.

I also found it very interesting the number of times the democratic candidates mentioned working with some specific moderate conservatives in the GOP caucus over the years (and with each other). It was very respectful to everyone and like an olive branch to those left leaning conservatives that are feeling very left out of their party right now.

Anderson seems like a genuine and smart fellow. I would not be against him throwing his hat in the ring for 2020. 2016 is such a mess.

That depends on whether you think having actual ideas and being articulate and comprehensive, while maybe saying things you don't wan't to hear or pounding your chest and screaming nonsense, but being louder classifies as "winning".
I believe there is a large subset of Americans that actually believe in the latter.

The 2020 race could be compiled completely of media personalities and it would have a better outlook for the US than this one.
Democrats:
Jon Stewart
Stephen Colbert
Anderson Cooper
Rachel Maddow
Bill Maher
Republicans:
Sarah Palin
Stephen Colbert
Bill O'Reilly
Sean Hannity
Jordan Kleper
The democratic race would actually be interesting. The republican race would still be hilarious.

Especially with Colbert running for both...
Maybe add Bill Maher too.

How amazing would a Colbert/Stewart vs. Colbert/O'Reilly election be.
From a shiggles perspective of course.

If it was Colbert vs Anderson in 2020, I would rest easy knowing America would be in good hands for at least 4 years. My preference would be Colbert though
