18-25 dollar hamburgers? Yea no, I'll make them myself with anything I want on it for a fraction of that price.
75 dollar steaks? I can buy a good one from BonTon and make it myself for $20.
I'm so over paying these ridiculous prices for food, when the quality and shrinkflation is going down and the price continues to rise.
$18.00 for a Wendy's combo now a days, just unreal.
Its crazy to me that I fast-food places are now almost as expensive as going to a half decent sit down restaurant, its comical to say the least. I'd sooner pay $20 more dollars for "home-cooked" food vs nothing but deep fried garbage.
If I have to eat out some where I usually look for the mom and pop type shops/diners where you can still get a good sandwich/burger for around $10.00

Sorry, not in Canada, but what kind of weight and cut are you getting for $20? I agree, restaurants are super overpriced, but even still, $20 doesn't seem like it'd get you much steakwise unless you know a cattle farmer.
EDIT: I buy prime (highest USDA rated) steaks from Oregon Costcos for ~$26/lb. Ribeyes/filets are similarly priced.

A 14 ounce striploin is around $20 up here and that is pretty good for cooking at home. Obviously that won't be the same as a $70 steak on any steakhouse menu.

Tried Bow Tie pizza over the weekend- A little more expensive that I am used to paying but man it's good Pizza. I had the Donair and it had great flavor, nice toppings and the gf had their Greece lightning pizza which I didn't try but she raved about it. Both pizzas were substantial enough, lots of toppings and the crust held up after the 15 minute ride home, and through the next day as leftovers

I suspect they will be going back to delivery only? or, perhaps DOP moving into a new space soon, they may have room to run it out of there?

Got an email today saying I had a bunch of Dominos rewards points about to expire (No idea how I got them, can't remember the last time I've ordered from there) so figured, screw it, I'm down for free pizza....
What garbage that was. Holy ####. I'm hardly a food snob. I mean yeah, I can make some delicious high-quality ####, yet still enjoy fast food. But this? Jesus Christ, what the hell. Can you legally even call this pizza? The sauce was completely unseasoned, every other topping was completely flavorless. Just a completely undercooked turd overall
Yeah, I know this won't be news to anyone, and I should have known better. I was just almost impressed at how it cost me $0, and I still felt ripped off

I can buy a 7-9oz strip loin for $20 or a solid 9-12oz ribeye for $30-35 that feeds my wife and I.
My wife went out for mothers day with her lady friends yesterday and paid $66.00 for a 10oz strip loin at a reputable restaurant in NW Calgary.
I just picked up a 4lb chuck roast for $38 and 2 strip loins for $41.70 hours ago. Making “poor man’s” burnt ends on my GMG and then steaks for tomorrow. The roast is enough for 4 adults and 2 kids to eat burnt ends off of and then I don’t have to drop $125-145 for a 13-15lb brisket.

FYI, Save on Foods has full packer brisket for $8.80 per kg this week. It is cheaper than Costco. I picked up a 6Kg and 4kg for a couple cooks later this month.

They had a test location downtown by my office, it's bad.
They're trying leverage their toaster oven more.

They should have leveraged their existing products, and gone with pizza bagels.

In Vancouver, I can get a prime rib-eye for $20-25 depending on size.
https://www.columbusmeatmarket.com/meats
In fact, I bought two steaks that look just like the one in the picture this weekend for $25 each. And these are 1lbs+ steaks with very rich marbling. I can struggle through one, but the wife probably eats about 1/3 of one.
I don't shop in Calgary, but from a quick google search, I can see that there are likely to be some very similarly priced options:

If you dig a little bit past grocery store options, you can get some great deals that are both more environmentally friendly and support locals.
