At least you do damage. I need better gear. I only do like 13k damage.

Basically, you need to be stacking crit chance and crit damage (BOTH stats on the particular piece of equipment) on top of your main damage stat (dex/intel) coupled with res all and with some vit on top boosted with "life on hit" and "critical hits add arcane power" so you dont run out of magic juice 2 seconds into the fight or "max discipline" if you are a DH and want to survive (read: spam smoke screen).

Basically, you wont find that gear because that gear drops in later acts where you wont survive unless your friends with that gear carry you.

Basically, you wont be able to buy that gear, because it costs in double digit millions per piece

Basically, you are screwed and will depend on other people till you hit jackpot

This game is built around AH and since you are too late on the gravy train - prices are already waay over inflated and the bad to mediocre stuff you will find won't sell - you are screwed.

Happy grinding

(Yes I am still playing, when I get the chance)

First and foremost, get a better "source". Heck even a <10K in gold "blue" one that is somewhere around 50-350 damage will blow the doors off what you have. Whenever you look at those, take the two values and divide by 2. In the above case that is 200 damage, where yours is 74.5. Huge difference.

As for what FoL said, I somewhat agree, however it isn't necessary, especially due to the high costs. If you look higher up in the thread, my link is there and I am toying with almost everything in Act II at this point, and I only have 14% crit and 135% crit dmg. MF should be a nice to have, not a must have. You have to be able to kill and survive first and foremost. IAS was nerfed, but it is still very helpful. The more you are hitting them, the less they are hitting you.

More focus on Int versus Vit (although both are important) and all resist is truly helpful staying alive farther into Inferno.

Lastly, you obviously are not using your followers. If you are playing solo, there is no reason not to! Go with a scoundrel with a cold dmg bow. Vit on all pieces and armour on the rings/ammy. Set him up to do the three shots and with the cold bow it slows down enemies for you to kill easier. There are other pluses with other followers as well, but damn man, use one!

Oh, and your pants are embarrassing! Sorry to say, but they are. Upgrade them right away. Belt and chest need it too. These are not expensive upgrades.

Your sharpshooter dps is misleading since you will only get that DPS on the first shot then it probably drops to 20k or so.

If you can get some crit chance gear and go dual wield hand crossbows you can up your DPS to about 35-40k without needing Sharpshooter and free that up for say nightstalker to give you more discipline. Then again you are not using Smoke screen or shadow power gloom for survival anyway.

Grab a couple hand crossbows with sockets and throw some emeralds in there for increased crit damage. Combine that with as much crit chance as you can get and light things up. Hard part is getting the crit chance/crit dmg gear along with resists/armor/vit for survival, very expensive.

It's also fun when 50% of your hits are crits

Yeah this is my co op build. I use SS because i was told its the best, i just started using it. I noticed it super inflates your dps. I rarely play single player and when i do my skills change a fair bit and i use more disc dependant skills for survival.

Double crossbows eh? My old crossbow was within 10% dps of the current one im using and when i would equip it, my dps would go down. No socket tho. Ill try that for my next big purchase. The most gold ive ever had at one time is 3mil so it will take awhile lol. I think im at 1.4 right now.

In co-op games, use Marked for death (Valley of death for groups, Mortal enemy for Elites/Bosses).

Yeah you need to get that crit chance up though or it will be worse.

Dual wield gives you 15% IAS so that = the IAS the quiver gives you.

Get crit chance and dmg if you can afford it on gloves, bracers, helm, and if you can find a deal on rings and ammy. Archery gives you 10% crit chance for using hand crossbows and if you really want caltrops with the last rune (forgot the name) gives you another 10% if you stand within it's range. Should easily get you into the 35%+ for crit chance.

I like dual socketed so you can throw a couple of star gems in it for 70% crit dmg each so 140% before whatever other crit dmg%+ gear you may have so 200%+ is not too hard to get. You can also just find a crossbow that comes with crit dmg would work just as well but then you can't up it with gems. You will see the most expensive ones are the crossbows that have crit dmg increase and a socket.

So I changed my barbarian from a very defensive tank to the sprint with whirlwind barb. It's really super fun and doesn't require all that great of gear to get started (although it does take some time to get used to). I farm Act 2 pretty efficiently with less than 20K life and 500 resistance, I'm far from invincible but it gets the job done. It's also pretty fun running through the white trash mobs and having them chase you only to die from the tornadoes. I'd definitely recommend it if someone was thinking of re-rolling a character as it is a fun build. (My barb: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/M...8/hero/5756783)

With that said, I wont be surprised to see the 1.04 patch change things up. I hope it makes other fun viable builds but I could see them nerfing this build as well.

Also speaking of 1.04, I found 6 legendaries the other day. Far from my norm and all 6 of them sucked so I wish it would have been a couple weeks later once the legendary buff takes place .

New legendaries, does seem pretty awesome but some may have been too big of a buff. 300 dex Firewalkers with molten, all resistance, movement speed and vit? Jeeze.

Hmm.. I haven't played in over a week. I actually like the game, but finally just got bored with it after rolling through all four acts over a dozen times. These new changes have piqued my interest again a little bit. I have a 50+ char for every class so I'm gonna have tons to try out when 1.04 comes out. The new patch should tie in nicely for when I finish Borderlands! Although... Borderlands 2 is coming out soon as well...

i got tired of D3 quite quickly, only got one class up to level 60 (Monk) and i just can't be bothered to login anymore. Borderlands on the other hand, i've maxed out each character class with multiple playthroughs and i just started another Siren from scratch to get ready for BL2. both D3 and BL are similar in the loot pinata ways, but i have way more fun with Borderlands for some reason (maybe due to lack of an auction house, and being able to gear yourself up in-game with no problems)

Yeah I've just been soloing BL as a Siren. Just made it out of the Arid Badlands the other night.

I don't know if people still play online or not, seeing as the game is like 5 years old, but I'm kinda scared to try. I prefer how in Diablo the loot isn't shared, whereas in multiplayer BL I feel like I'd easily just get any loot gear I find jacked (not that I played a lot of D3 in co-op anymore, since a lot of my buds have quit as well heh).

Patch 1.04 Wizard update:

Nothing exciting, and the CM build is getting nerfed a bit...

ooohh can't wait what will my CM wizz buddy will say to this, they halved the proc coefficient, very niiiice (Borat's voice). I know he spent countless hours farming and millions to get gear good enough for that build to be viable (I think his crit % is just under 40%) and I was telling him it's going to be nerfed (quite easy to figure that out watching him tank 4th of July fireworks in Act 3) and he was saying no way, because this build doesn't exploit a broken mechanics...well here you go.

BTW most of the people on my friends list have been offline for good 2-3 weeks. I'm quite curious if any of them will log back in after 1.04.

Blizzard always seems to be chasing "balance". They have always tried it in WoW, and they are doing it to an even greater extent in D3.

Personally I think it is a fools errand. Even if they were to be able to figure out a way to determine how to make every different ability and mechanic balanced, there will always be a perception of imbalance and people will whine.

Blizzard must have the statistics, but what I wonder is when they make a change that affects the balance, how may people does it annoy enough that they give up (why grind and put all that effort into specific types of gear when they are nerfed as soon as competency is achieved) versus how many people does it renew interest? Tough balancing act.
